No, I am not talking about there actually being one, however, hypothetically, how do you think it would run? Who would you cast as the main actors? Would you do multiple films, or just one? Who would you want to be the director? What cuts would you make?
I for one would like to put forward some of the things that I would cut (not because I dislike them, but because they are time consuming), Os Dakar with the possible introduction of Whist elsewhere. Solution to problem posed by it's removal would be to have the unfortunately slightly deus ex machina of Calica just seeing Macaan's plans.
The Koth Taraan, again, time-consuming, and can probably be removed with few problems.
Imprisonment of Kia and all the stuff in the desert, again time-consuming, and it is possible to see it without this. Could also lead to death or disappearance of Aurin if necessary for plotting.

Good question!
But I dunno whether a movie´d such a good idea. Of course, it could be possible but cutting out all these nice bits... I dunno whether I´d like that. I´d appreciate a TV-series. With a high budget, of course! 45 minutes each episode. No idea how many eps would be needed, though. A series in three seasons. Each season telling the story of one trilogy. Book 1-3 = First season Book 4-6 = Second and Book 7-9 = Third season. *thinks*
Now the cast. Don´t ask me! XD I never thought about this as I always believed it´d be an animation series.
°v°~

I personally chose movie as it's a step away from a T.V. series, and also allows for both better actors and special effects.
Feel free to discuss it within the realms of a T.V. show as well.

I say movie. And even though i agree with the cuts you made being expendable, only Os Dakar do I see as being honestly able to be gotten rid of without harm, becuase it's only in one book. The Koth taraan and the Desert folk take out too much of Chris' original work. Kia's character is resolved through the desert, and the Koth Taraan are just too big and too important. Without them there's no reason for Jaan...then again I don't like that kid much anyway.
I think if you cut enough little things it could still go well. And I would say three movies, one for every three books. ^_^

I wish to take two examples from the Lord of the Rings movies as to why cuts like these need to be made. The first is Tom Bombadil, he is the only character within Lord of the Rings totally un-affected by the ring, the second is the scouring of the shire, which shows that the war of the ring affected everywhere within middle-earth.

Sorry ^^;;
Still, if the chance came up, but only one movie was to be made, significant cuts would have to happen.

yeah, unless they were Catering ENTIRELY to crazed fans like us who would willingly sit through five hour movies per three books...I know I would.

I would cry if you cut out Jaan ;-;
Anyway, yea, TV series. Not the normal voice actors, cause hearing Veronica Taylor's voice that often is driving me crazy.

Who else does she play? And yeah, I wouldn't want popular voice-actors. and DEFFIANTELY not celebrities. I HATE it when they do that.
I said already that it would pretty much HAVE to be anime right?

I´ve got nothing against celebrities doing the voice over for some animation series. If they´re skilled it´s okay~ X3
Jeremy Irons as Tatterdemallion.
Or... not. XD
But I´d rather have an animation series than three movies. I dunno... I don´t want to have bits cut out of it. And the thought that some characters would vanish, too... nah, wouldn´t want that.
It would be just like the Angel Sanctuary OVA. Bad, short and no Zaphikel. XD

NO FRIGGIN WAY live action. the books were practically MADE to be anime or at LEAST animated. even Chris himself visioned it that way, he SAID so. Dude! there's no Zaphikel Angel Sanctuary?! THAT IS SO WRONG!!! I didn't like the anime anyway...

This is a fact that I know of, however, if this was the only chance, and only possible way, you'd just have to grit your teeth and bear it, and who knows it could be decent.

Well, I'm not sure....but that was just an example XD;; I just keep hearing the same voices for everything and its driving me crazy. XD Anime would prolly be best, but if they had a big enough budget live action might be kinda cool....but you know what else would be hot? 3D animation Like the Final Fantasy things (which I used to not like, but now I...um...do XD;; ). Well done, of course, not crappy 3D. (Mmmm, Tidus...)
