We are the Crooked Lanes, that´s for sure.
I do feel slightly disappointed by the CW-community on lj.com ... some members aren´t really interested in this forum. Sad thing is, I don´t know many people who adore CW the way we do and thus throwing advertisments around in school or anywhere else doesn´t really help.
Any ideas how to make the Crooked Lanes known? Maybe some books-forums where many people post? I´m off, searching.
Oh and yes. I do call this a forum. It is, after all, rather new on the Internet and it does take some time to grow. Like plants. There will be more members. If we make this forum a lovley place where people actually want to discuss over everything I am convinced, by sheer optimism, that the Crooked Lanes will be known. Until then, let´s all do our best to achieve that goal, shall we?

Activating kaeli, kirina and riven would be a first step to consider. Then the best way to advertise this forum would be to get into Mr Wooding's site itself. Eh, Maliris, show us your super powers. These guys consider adding links to sites: www.scifan.com/writers/ww/WoodingChris.aspLiveJournal also has these communities listing the "interest" CW: * 4quarters - Four Quarters *dragonconyalit - Dragoncon Young Adult Literature Track *seldom_end - Seldom End * shrine_of_sf - Shrine of Stitch-face

Oh thanks Pairidaeza.
I´ll send an e-mail to these scifan.com people, tell them about CW´s site and this forum.
About my super powers... let´s see what I can do. <...< I can´t really promise anything though. He probably won´t notice.
But, optimism, go go go! XD
See you~

Then the best way to advertise this forum would be to get into Mr Wooding's site itself. Eh, Maliris, show us your super powers. This seems to be a pretty good idea of spreading popularity quickly. I am not sure how willing the great man will be to put his name to the site (because then people will expect him to leap out of the woodwork and post). But if you don't ask, you don't get.

Hehe... I know. So I´ll try. XD *summons super powers* Anyway, concerning www.scifan.com/writers/ww/WoodingChris.aspThere doesn´t seem to exist anyone anymore who receives the e-mails. My mail was sent back telling me no such user was found. °~° But well... let´s try something else. *casts super powers* Okay, see you. And nexionsirond, welcome to this forum! °v°

I don't think that tends to work, the main problem is that not enough people read Chris Wooding, I'm the only fan that I knew before I joined this place.

@ valca: I totally agree with you! There are so many people out there you don´t even know what they´re missing! I need to do more advertising... ._."
I already gave three Wooding-books to a school friend for she has to give an oral presentation about some English book and asked me for some. So I gave her those I thought would be good for a school presentation. Kerosene. Endgame. And Poison. She picked the one with the burning school... xDDD
Maybe I should buy the books as presents for my friends...

The question is will they appreciate it, if you have friends who like fantasy then I think that it might be the way forward (and made me realise that I should probably do that too).

It's a good idea~ But a certain person (Yes, you know who you are!) still won't join the forum... Sad, really.
I try to make my friends read the books, but it's really not that easy. Some of them don't have too much time at the moment or don't like reading or just don't like fantasy... My granny loved The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray, though~ Does that count?

Make her join, the power of the wiggly fingers compels you!
And with that aside, it looks like there is a bit more activity now, which is promising.

Well, I guess I could still force her to join somehow... I have to get my hands on some blackmail material! Maliris could help me.
Or we could threaten to tell Christoph Marzi what she wrote into his book. Hm...

@woll: Hu? :µ What did she write?
@ topic: Maybe I should draw more fanart. I really feel, well, really bad about neglecting Chris so much. °-°" And thus advertise this forum and his books. But at the moment I totally tied up. ~.~
