I'd go to a convention there but I can't begin to imagine the price of actually flying to London, staying in a hotel, spending the stupidly high amount of money I know I'd spend and then flying home, and I can't be bothered being stuck on a plane for 24 hours.
Then again if I bothered to save any money rather than blowing it all on my hobbies (buying clothes and shoes), I could actually go.

A newbie! yay!
Nice to see you. Sorry for not saying so sooner, but I haven't been that active recently.
Have some apologetic fairy cakes *offers the cakes*

I'd go to a convention, but London scares me.

Hello to all the people that newly said hello! I'm feeling very popular and loved XD
London isn't really scary, depends on which bit you go to...Sunderland is a loong way to come but if you want to come to a convention in London (for example eastercon next year or I think someone else mentioned the MCM at the end of this month) I could escort you; I'd be happy for the company since i don't know many people who share my random interests around where I live.
Australia is a long way away *boggles*. fin.

This place does that. Makes you feel popular and loved, that is :3
And it's true, London is very un-scary. Especially the parts of it I go. Yes, I mentioned the MCM, heh. Maybe I'll see you there. I'll probably be with a short chinese girl and a tall guy wearing blue.
What would be epic would be if everyone on this site from a suitably close location all went there together XD
Well, I can dream...
Afterthought: I think that meeting any of you in real life would be awesome.

If any of you are going to a convention, say and I'll see if I can stalk turn up.
We'd have to wear costume, though. No question about it.

Oh my god, it's like the whole of the crooked lanes will be going to that expo! That would be epic. We could cosplay Chris' characters ;D

Or we could just go looking like normal people and not embarrass him (not to mention ourselves).

Aww, but where's the fun in that? Cosplay is relatively normal in conventions, s'not like we'd be running around in the high street.

Or we could just go looking like normal people and not embarrass him (not to mention ourselves). Or the wonderful display of Chris's character would generate further interest in his work and get more people to read. Never doubt the power of publicity

Do you know how difficult it would be to make the outfit of one of his characters? Not to mention the price tag. Very few of us have the body for it either.
A better way to generate publicity might be to find a convention with an art show and display illustrations of his works.

That we're all just messing about? Just for the record, I don't like cos-playing, I find it… strange. I can see the fun in it, but it’s just not for me. Furthermore, I highly doubt anyone was going to go as one of Chris’ characters for the reasons you’ve lists. But that doesn’t mean we can’t be silly and speculate on the idea. Loosen up! Twas all in the name childish fun, like going on swings despite the fact you're 21 years old ;D

Sorry, since two people have recently shared cosplay photos it seemed more likely that it was a serious suggestion. Even so, speculation should also include difficulties.

So true, I would not cosplay either. Sometimes my subtle british humour can be mistaken for serious I guess... Speaking of illustrations, the Expo has got a massive corner for drawing... Yes... I wish I could draw

Hey, I'm british too you know! D: It's just confusing without a flat tone of voice or negative emoticon... I'm never sure how I'd feel about putting my illustrations in a show, I'm sure it's technically illegal to sell illustrations from a book without permission from the author. I never get how the fan-artists at anime and game conventions are allowed to do it. Raihor, I'm sure you could draw if you worked hard enough! The issue would be finding enough time to practice. Honestly, I always feel like a bit of a fraud because I have a gift for it. I have a friend who draws really well but has no natural ability at all and has just practiced a lot, she makes me feel like a lazy toad. I totally only like it because I'm good at it.
