Miss Benjamin is probably the scariest. Not creepiest, that would be our friend Mr. Scratch. Most sinister is of course Wide Paul Tall Jake, and the most mysterious is Grendel. Yup, villains of many talents!

I'm not certain Grendel is a villain. To me, he's just drawing. It seems like he doesn't have control over it. He's probably just being used by Jake, Scratch, and Benjamin. At least, that's what I'm thinking...

Yepp, my thoughts, too. Grendel is just drawing comics. He's no spy for he cannot control what he's seeing/drawing. He's the badguys medium to lure more kids into Malice. Though, of course, I could be wrong here. I doubt he's all "damsel in distress" and await patiently when we are told that in fact he's pulling the strings (with a "mwahaha", please) or that he has equally sinister goals. But people who lock up their artists... are mean people. Miss Ben: Is she a rat? A cat? A ratcat? It would make sense if she were a rat for she isn't too thrilled about all the cats and their queen. But then again, she could be a cat-thing, too, though one that wanted to have more power... It's late and I should be sleeping. See ya.

If Grendel was nice, he wouldn't draw those comics. That's what I think. Also the way he's described. Unless of course, Chris has something up his sleeve. That would be typical

Well, look at Vago. He wasn't nice-looking, and his original form wasn't nice, but as Vago he was a sweetie.
I see Grendel as being forced to draw it, like a curse. He HAS to draw what he sees, no matter what. He's probably plagued by what he draws and maybe still feels bad but can't stop. Or, he's been drawing them for so long, he's somewhat numb to the whole thing, but still wishes he could stop. He just lost hope.
Kind of like Myrrk from Poison. Just a tragic guy, stuck doing what he's doing for eternity.

Could be.. It's just the way that Chris described him. Of course, it was all from Seth's point of view, so who can say?
