Ok, I stand corrected, but in my defense, I've never read BKSky, so I was just going by what I have read. Sorry. >_<

Have you ever watched Heroes?
In what way does technology fail you the most often?

HEROES SPOILERS Watched the first 3 episodes. So far, I don't much like it. Can't put my finger on why, I mean, the dialogue and acting is pretty crappy but I've enjoyed programs with worse. Still, I haven't quite given up yet, but the only thing that is keeping me going on to episode 4 was when that girl woke up in the middle of her own autopsy ;D Does anyone else think it's vastly stupid that the cheerleader has, within 3 episodes, been accidentally killed TWICE??? And by the same guy, no less. I GET THAT SHE'S INVINCIBLE ALREADY!!! Also that Indian guy keeps on discovering things by dropping objects, bumping into hidden walls, etc. And the flying guy is the most annoying person ever. And Niki buried a body that took all night while her son slept in an open top car 10 yards away from her and he only woke up (in the blazing desert sun in an open top car, mind) at almost the exact moment she finished and so conveniently didn't see his mother burying chopped up corpses. Oh my, this could actually be the dumbest show ever. I almost have to keep watching now. Hiro is cool though. When people don't get that I'm joking cos they can't pick up the nuance in text messages/emails and then they get mad and I have to hide

I don't know if this has been answered in The Fade's section of the forums, having not been there yet, due to not finishing the book. Yet. In The Fade, I'm noticing some real-world connections (like the enviornmental stuff in Braided Path). Are you stating your world views and your scorn for such things as going to war to make money, etc., or is it just what happens to be happening in the book? (Well that was cirtainly confusingly worded XP)

(I came back) Forgive me if this has been asked before cause it's been a lot of questions since I've been here, but...like Firefly/Serenity? "at least three-quarters of the stuff on the shelves isn't anything original." HEAR HEAR

I'm usually wary of giving an exact interpretation of my intentions behind a book, because then it stops people making up their own minds. It's the old "how much should you know about the author" question: should they be invisible or is it better to know, for example, that they used to be a Communist and the text should be read with that in mind? In my case, I prefer to be invisible... or at least, well, camouflaged Predator-style. The Fade is first-person, so everything is filtered through Orna, and her opinions aren't necessarily mine; though some of them might be ;D But yes, for the record, IMO going to war to make money is bad enough; what's worse is when the population choke down the feebly transparent justifications of their respective governments and actually allow themselves to be persuaded it's a Good Thing. Oh yes. I didn't watch it for the longest time but then I went and bought the DVD set and I reckon it's just about as near to perfect as an SF series can get. So naturally they cancelled it, as with all the best series (Arrested Development, Deadwood, Carnivale, etc etc) I'm a big fan of the new Battlestar Galactica too, though it's not as tight as Firefly IMO... the bits about the Cylons and Baltar always bore me, and that's about 1/3rd of the screen time; but it's made up for by all the stuff aboard Galactica and the fact that Katee Sackhoff is a totally brilliant actress... Still watching Heroes It's SO BAD and yet... yet... can't... quite... stop

Heroes will do that to you. Being an avid reader of superhero comic books the plotline bores me out of my skull, and yet I watch it every time it's on!
The problem with good series is that they're always good because they're slightly different, so it takes longer for most of the population to decide they like it and studios always chicken out before it quite gets there. It's so sad!
How do you feel about old cartoons? Did you ever like Thundercats, of Biker Mice from Mars, or any other scary 90s stuff?

Heroes... D:| T´was my sister who started watching the series. She then annoyed me all day long to watch it but I refused to do so. She always told me that she liked it and other people always told me that Mohinder-Mohinder-Mohinder-Blah... the fact that most of my livejournal-friends watch it didn´t help. xD So, one fateful day I gave in. The first season was alright, even though it had some horrible dialogues; it still had something. So far I am annoyed by the second season. It´s just... I dunno... *_* Still, there´s plenty of stuff to make fun of so I don´t get bored.
Thundercats! *shivers* I remember that one!

What was the scrapped surface plot in 'The Fade' about (the whole half-light being really important bit), or do you want to keep that under wraps?

MEESTER EESAA-AAC! Hiro rules and Peter's powers are cool, but not much elsee is goin for that series. I still wonder why I've watched every episode.... alright, I'm going to be unbelievably random and wierdly psycho-technical and ask a follow up question to a previous question concerning your manner of cogitation. There are 4 types of thinking: visual (you can see things in your head and seeing things allows you to remember best), kinetic (writing is the best way of remembering something, you may never need to look at it again as long aas you actually write it down), audial (you remember what you hear), and abstract (feelings, you can't see hear or feel anything at will but you can remember things that certain feelings are associated with. I know most about this one because I use this one, which makes me very good at learning foriegn languages because I can cross-associate the foriegn words with the native in my mind). Which are you? O,o wow, I really need to learn how to write "short" comments. oh also, what countries have you been to? ok, my randomness ends there for the moment...
