Well, H heard of it, read a review, lowered my expectations, bought it, read it, enjoyed it (really did). It's nowhere near Saramyr's or Alaizabel's "epicness", but for a book with not much action, it *is* kinda nice and made me chuckle here and there. Edit: Of course, I had to get the title wrong. Sorry

Lol, I do wonder how well that book translated into German, since it's so chock-full of British slang and Britishness in general. It wasn't a good sign that they changed the title 'Crashing' into 'The Party,' which is possibly the most boring title in the history of boredom (and that's a really long time, think how bored cavemen were before XBox...) Glad you liked it tho.

*fg* I would have to find out about that. I have not the slightest idea how many British in-jokes I missed in the German translation. It was a good, fluent read though with quite a few smirks, even in German. I should've read it when I was the right age, heh.

I luved Crashing too, even though I read some less-than-glowing reviews. I thorougly enjoyed both Crashing and Kerosene. And I have to say, I luved seeing the same people in both. ^_^ Very nice touch.

Those are the two books I can never find anywhere and really want to read! At least I know I can get my mits on Broken Sky easily enough come summer, but I can't find Crashing or Kerosene at all. I've checked some sites but they don't have it. It makes me feel sad.

I snapped both of them up last December as a gift to myself. Read Crashing first, which is good, since the characters come back in Kerosene. And no, that's not a spoiler of any significance. ^_^

That's something I never knew before, how cool! And thanks for the heads up because I would probably have ended up reading Kerosene before Crashing knowing me. That is, if I actually had them ...

Hmmm....I can't recall which I have read, but I read either Crashing or Kerosene..... It was very different from Wooding's other works that I had read.

I dunno, "The Party" sounds kinda like it could get away with being a Point Horror book.
I read Crashing and Kerosene (and Endgame) when I was still in Senior School.
...That really shouldn't seem like such a long time ago.
Anyway, I liked them at the time, but I probably wouldn't touch 'em with a barge pole now. Aside from the teen-aim, it's all about the fantasy books now, baby. A book'll have to be very good and not scifi/fantasy/in some way historical for me to be interested now.

Kerosene is a sequel? I never knew! I don't think Kerosene was released in Germany anyway. But now I have to get a copy, heh.

Well, not really a sequel. You see 2 characters from Crashing in a passing mention. And that's it. But it's just the type of thing I luve. Having authors/directors/whatever hiding little tiny things that only big fans would notice. ^_^

I love that sort of thing too, but it has to be done carefully. I read series of books once where it kind of ruined the suspension of disbelief. It made me chuckle in Kerosene though.

Oh, god, I have to remember now....Ummmm....Cal is eating lunch or something and he sees Jay with the girl, I think. Gah, I can't remember the names. I haven't read these since Dec of last year, so my memory of the exact part is a bit hazy. It's in the middle, I think....Cal and Jay have a brief convo, and that's it.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. My memory is very very bad. I couldn't tell you what I did a week ago, let alone a short book from almost a year ago. >_< I guess that means it's time to re-read them. ^_^
