I couldn´t resist.
In my opinion, part nine was so good because the whole book was the endbattle. There´s nothing I hate more than a boring, short endbattle or climax. I think the last chapters are the most difficult to write because somewhere you have to draw a line. The final dot, where to put that? That was nicely handled by Mister Wooding. There were many stories of several character groups, thus more cliffhangers than´s good for my health. I just quote: "Impact." And I turned the page and there was... some different battle going on with different characters. XD
Also, the Final Battle with Mr Macaan. There was... lots of catharsis going on... and then there was Whist. XP I was surprised. I didn´t think of him at all. The moment the metal-disks buried themselves in Macaan´s forhead I simply though: "Duh! Whist beat you all. XDD"
And Wollschaf probably snorted disgusted. XD
So, what did you think of the end battle? I´m curious.

Yeah, I spent a few days on books 7/8 and then book 9 I just...couldn't put down. I kept thinking, I'll eat in a minute, I'll pee in a minute, I'll shower in a minute, and I just couldn't stop reading!! I liked that the end battle wasn't just a fight, there was much final character developement going on, and when Takami died I...god, I sobbed. The whole thing was amazing, and then ending was so touching, when I read the last page I almost cried all over, just because such a wonderful thing had ended.

I think Takami makes one of the most valid points of the series, if he hadn't betrayed Parraka, then Macaan would have won. I also like the fact that Macaan was beaten by cunning and speed rather than brute strength.

True, true! When Takami started to express his thoughts that if he hadn´t done exactly what he had done Macaan would not have been defeated. All was "planned". Maybe planned is the wrong word. It was all prepared. I guess prepared is right. I always wondered what the Deliverers were good for apart from putting stones into helpless children. Also, Calica. If not for her special powers all this earring-business would have been senseless. But if Ty had not been thrown into Os Dakar (it was Os Dakar, wasn´t it?) they would have found this bloke I forgot the name of. I remember the agony of having to wait several chapters to find out whether Gerdi had survived Teh Destruction of Tusami City. Damn these cliffhangers... The ending. Yes. That was great as Chris spared lines for every single character. What they´re doing and where they´ve gone to. Also that Chris gave them something like a future with discovering new lands.

My God, he is just such an amazing story teller. the wholse future thing was fantastic, but made me want even more to keep reading about their stories!! I forgot about Gerdi being one of the ones that almost died!! I loved that kid so much! I almost fainted when I thought chris had killed him!

still broken sky still ranks up there as one of the greatest books of all time.
i just wish araciel could talk and he'd been in the story more
also I've heard tell that there is a certain ''Broken sky graphic novel " this of course would be rather incredible espeically if steve kytete were illustrating it

The BSky graphic novel thing:
Nothing's on the table at the moment. Basically I talked with Scholastic US about doing a graphic novel for them. Initially we floated the idea about doing a graphic novelisation of BSky, but then I said I'd rather do something new, so I wrote Pandemonium instead. It's supposed to be the first of a series and is coming out 2008, but whether Schol US will pick up a whole series of graphic novels I dunno. At the moment they're looking for artists so I'm not sure; haven't heard anything about it for a while...

Hmmm. I don't know much about European mangas, but have you ever talked to Tokyopop or ADV (I think its ADV)? Tokyopop's got some manga from English-speaking authors and ADV is just cool (Chrono Crusade! <3)...though I suppose you'd have to come to them with an artist already or who knows who they'd pick @_@ I'm guessing Steve Kyte doesn't want to do it?

Haven't spoken to Steve Kyte for years, but anyway, he gets bored very quickly drawing the same characters over and over so he doesn't like to do comic strips AFAIK. Sooner or later I'll have a look at doing some more comic work cos I really enjoyed writing Pandemonium, but right at the mo there just aren't enough hours in the day. Can barely keep up with the stuff I've got already got going on

They should invent the 30-hours day. Or something that allows you to work and move between the seconds. But that would, in the end, make your body explode because it´s not made for moving so fast and... |:U Yesh~ comics! Pandemonium. Sounds really loud dark and malicious. Looking forward to that one! Omg, there´s penguins on the tv~Time for tea.

Lol, no, it's just the opposite. It's a very, very silly fantasy comedy/romance. But don't worry, MALICE is dark as all hell, so you'll get your fix ;D

°c°"
Ups. Then I got this terribly wrong. Yay! XD Well, with Pandemonium being a place of extreme confusion and disorder. Not to mention all these demons... *laughs* Well, you never stop learning. XD

blue: nope, actually both Pandemonium and Malice will be simultaneous UK/US releases AFAIK. The States has at last caught up with the UK in the publishing schedules, mainly because I've been slacking off writing movies and not books 'n' stuff...
Maliris: yes, tis full of demons, but they're generally rather cute...
