i was reading up on chris' blogs at his page, and i came up with a thought.
maybe we should have a book tracker thread. it'll basically be where we tell each other "i found (insert chris wooding book) at (insert book store)" or something like that. then everyone else can go to their local book store or book store site.
also to help each other out, we can also say what section we found the book in (if seen in a bookstore)
also if we find out interesting info on the older books then list that too. for example, i found out that the broken sky series can be found for $20-something at borders.

Given how far afield we all live from one another I don't know how this would help, but I'll participate anyway. I'm lazy, so I'm going to list my findings now, while I can be bothered:
I found The Weavers of Saramyr and The Fade for about £10 each in Waterstones. They also sell a varying selection of his young adult books including Poison, Haunting, Storm Thief and the new editions of Broken Sky for about £8 each, although they're not usually in stock at the same time.
The anthology edition of The Braided Path and The Fade can be found in Borders where I live, for about £17 and £10, respectively. They also sporadically stock the same young adult books as Waterstones for more or less the same price.
Heffer's Book Shop sells The Fade for £10 or so, and sometimes stocks the mass-market paperbacks of the Braided Path trilogy. They have been known to carry Storm Thief, Haunting, Poison, Broken Sky and Malice at various intervals.
Galloway and Porter occasionally has random copies of his adult books, but I don't go in there enough to know how reliably they stock them (I also don't know if they're a chain shop or an independent one, so this may not be helpful for anyone outside Cambridge.)
In all of these, the adult books were to be found in the Sci-Fi and Fantasy section, the young adult books in Young Adult or Fiction 9-12

~ Broken Sky 1, 2, & 3 in a Scholastic magazine in elementary school, but I don't remember how much b/c my parents bought them.
~ I got Poison at Borders for $15.
~ I got Storm Thief at Borders for $20.
~ I got The Braided Path trilogy at Borders over a few months for $8 a piece.
~ I got The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray at Borders for $12.
~ I got The Fade through a friend's amazon account for around $20.

Not really all that helpful for American users, as most of his stuff is out of stock now. >_>
But here's my list
Crashing, Kerosene, Poison, Storm Thief, Braided Path Trilogy, and Restless Dead all found at Borders, several years ago.
The Fade and Malice ordered off of Amazon.uk.
The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray was given to my fiancee because her mother reviewed books, and it was a "new release" so she got a free copy to review. The second Haunting I bought off some used books website for over $80. Not including shipping.
I have no idea what I paid for them. I think Crashing and Kerosene were about $7 each.

hmm...
another way this could help, sort of. is for new fans to know what books of his came to the US.
also in a way we could compare prices with each others locations.
although i had envisioned that it would help with the new book to come out. so that we know from each other when a new book came out.

Not that this post will help anyone as being in Australia...
- found the mini Broken Sky books via Scholastic magazine for $5 a decade ago, brought parts 4 - 6 from Amazon for about $20 each, brought parts 7 - 9 then all the new editions from Amazon UK for about $30 per book... how very sad, and my dad brought them all for me except for the new editions
- brought Haunting of Alaizabel Cray and The Fade from bookstore Angus and Robertson (http://www.angusrobertson.com.au); the former I can't remember the price but was in young adult section, the latter was $40 and in the adult section
- brought Storm Thief and The Braided Path Trilogy at Borders; the former about $18 in young adult section, the latter was $45 (three books in one) in the adult section
Both Angus and Robertson and Borders pretty much stock everything from (in timeline) Haunting of Alaizabel Cray through to The Fade, but rarely. Mostly in the young adult section: I haven't found Crashing or Kerosene for sale here (read them at a library), and Broken Sky and Malice aren't released here.

The latest is Malice.
Retribution Falls is coming out soonish, but there's no point looking for that until after the competition.

Sadly, I cannot really help you with this book tracker (which is a good idea, I think.) as I live in Germany and could only provide the translated books. They have those. The English originals are elusive, I'm afraid. But if you ever end up in Prague, go here: www.expats.cz/prague/czech/bookstores/big-ben-bookshop/They had two (!!!) Malice-editions. Both lying on the shelf instead of standing because of that 3D-cover. I may have squealed a bit.

I thought I should mention that Malice is also available in my local children's library, so if you're in England and you can't find it in a book shop you may be able to borrow a copy.

My school library has loads of his stuff. But nobody uses this library so it's a waste. It's actually quite easy to find his stuff in the UK. If not in a large bookshop, Amazon can always help.

I think you saw what I did. Because as far as I know, The Fade still hasn't been set for an American release. You'd just be ordering it from the UK, which is the same as using Amazon.
