*POSSIBLE SPOILER*
The first creepy thing I saw was in the Broken Sky series where Macaan would somehow... "form" the ley warrens by fusing together all of the people who could change between the dimensions (I forget what they're called). I just tried to picture what those would look like and the image was VERY disturbing XP .

Most definately the ghetto gruel. I found that so awful.
Then there is always all the nice descriptions of how the wright monster killed on of the begger lord's men in the sewers. That was just....gross. How he simply decomposed in a hurry was rather disturbing for me.

I haven't read the Braided Path series yet... But I think that nutrient gruel thing was a little sickening. It reminds me of a movie that came out like YEARS ago and it was kind've the same concept. Gak. Yes, Asinastra's spider baby was a little *shudder* unsettling. And that part in the Haunting where Grindle was totally shriveling up before their eyes... That created quite an image.

Oh yeah, and When Thaniel's eyes were like...bleeding or whatnot...that was terrifying

Really? I thought that bit was cute... I mean, not that him getting hurt was cute, but I really wanted to give him a hug! I feel so sorry for characters when they get hurt, I feel like "Awww! Poor baby!"
The vioces whispering behind the door though? That was scary. And the concept of being possessed, the bit where it described Alaizabel when she was taken over by Thatch was really unsettling.

And that part in the Haunting where Grindle was totally shriveling up before their eyes... That created quite an image. I found that to be very disturbing indeed. And in The Braided Path where Kakre made Mos sort of explode on the floor. It didn't help that I was eating tomato soup at that moment ... Lots of the Weaver stuff was disturbing, now that I think of it. And what happened to Tane's little sister was just so horrible.

" Yuk! But you´re right. The Weavers have this disgusting effect on people; they are just... so... eww. But amazing enemies nonetheless. :> You just couldn´t bring yourself to liking them which was really good. Normally, I somewhat sympathise with the enemy. To a certain degree. But these freaks! No way. I remember cheering when Kaiku killed her first Weaver...

I remember cheering when Kaiku killed her first Weaver... My favourite moment between Kaiku and the Weavers always has to be at the end of The Ascendancy Veil, where she goes, "You are in our way." I did a mental cheer inside at that moment. So cool.

Poor baby!" I know what you mean. In Poison, when they KILLED the dogs, SKINNED the dogs, and then PUT ON THE SKINS... Eeeeeew! I always love reading about post-weaving rages in Braided Path. Disturbing stuff in books is great, but when it's in movies I find it disgusting.

There were probably bits and pieces in Broken Sky that made me go 'WTF?!' when I first read it, not that I remember any of them right now.
Emery's one was probably up there though.

Heh, I'm still reading Weavers (I'm not even halfway through yet :/ ) but I already dislike the Weavers. I don't find them particulary evil or disturbing (yet), but I agree that they make good villians just because it's so easy to hate them.

Tcha, there's nothing worse than a book or television programme where you begin to sumpathise with the villain more than the hero. It totally warps the story.
I'll agree with ghosteggplant on the skinning the dogs thing, that was pretty sick-making.
