It wouldn't make a huge amount of difference to the dreadlocks, but I'm sure you'd have the cleanest scalp ever!

There's this girl at school who has 5 foot long dreads. And she's barely above 5 feet tall.

I couldn´t have dreads. I like my hair out of the way. When it´s grown over my eyes and hampers me while I draw (like, say, dips into the ink) I really must resist the urge to cut it myself. xD I like my hair short. And my hair approves. @toolofgod: Wow, that´s long! D: Dreads all they way, you say? Wow, again... but that´s nothing for me. XDD

There's a boy at college with very long dreads dyed bright orange and purple. And I mean very bright.

Wow, by contrast all my arty dreadlocked people are pretty boring, They all have shoulder-length ones in their natural hair colour and just tire them back with a bandanna when they're working.
I have hair down to my hips, but it stays in an immovable ponytail so it doesn't fall in my ink.

I only have hair to my shoulders, but I grew out my fringe so it falls across my face, where I prefer it. You're likely to lose a hand if you try to tuck my fringe back.
It makes my Mum annoyed to no end.

Heh, my hair was chopped off a few years ago. I used to have my hair down to my lower back, basically to my hips. Huge, curly, thicker than most (the thickest hair any of my hairdressers have ever felt, and one specialized in thick hair), and all the way down. Then, one day, I asked my hairdresser to chop it off, and now the lowest it gets is down to my ears, lol. There was a lot of hair on the floor that day. ^_^

Aww, you should have given it to one of those wig-makers who makes wigs for children with cancer. It seems a shame to waste it.
I'd never be able to cut all my hair off in one go, even if I did sudden't want it short I'd have to get it shortened slowly to make sure I wasn't going to change my mind.

I've chopped all my hair off at one point. It was so hideous growing back that I could never do it again.
My friend also has ridiculous thick hair... for her to have a simple haircut and streaks through her hair takes four hours in the chair and three hairdressers at once... extremely boring. She would never cut it shorter than her shoulders though.

I've chopped all my hair off at one point. It was so hideous growing back that I could never do it again. Haha, that's what happened with me! My hair was halfway down my back at the end of 2006, then I went crazy and decided I wanted short hair. Bad move - my face shape is not really suited to short hair. Also, it was actually more of a hassle than I imagined it would be to look after it and style it, so I let it grow out for a year. This year, I got it cut like Sarah Chalke's hair in the third season of Scrubs and I love it so much!

Short hair does actually suit me better, and I found it really easy to take care of, but I just like having longer hair. And because it takes ages for my hair to grow (except my fringe, which is extremely fast), it took a good couple of years to grow back out again properly.
The shortest it ever gets cut now is chin length.

My hair comes down to my shoulders. It's thick and curly like Zemira's. I've been cutting it myself for a while, which drives my mom crazy. I always have it in a ponytail, though, because it's too fluffy for me to comfortably wear down.

My hair wasn't totally wasted. My hairdresser used it to keep pests out of her garden. I would have gladly surrendered it to Locks of Love or whatever the company is, but they have a specific length requirement and my hair was like an inch or 2 inches too short. >_<
