Rafzakael: dictionary.com gives me
1. the support, or point of rest, on which a lever turns in moving a body. 2. any prop or support. 3. Zoology. any of various structures in an animal serving as a hinge or support. –verb (used with object) 4. to fit with a fulcrum; put a fulcrum on.
for fulcrum. Does that help?

Something else concerning the names: The competition's answer revealed that they were all birds except for Vago. (And maybe some other onfortunate peeps but I don't have the book with me right now so I cannot check.) Something I had to check because I was curious. Moas and some rails are extinct. Isn't that a bit mean? And were both flightless birds which makes the book's ending appear in an alltogether different light. The only charcter who could at least glide was Vago whose name isn't that of a bird. Gosh, interpretation... Though... Kittiwakes can fly and I think her being named after a seabird is pretty fitting. I found it a bit weird that Vago liked the dead seabird so much he wanted it for a necklace. But now I think he just wanted to be part of the bird-names-gang... I need to stop here and get myself a coffee.

Lol, you're right. Tukor Kep, who became Vago, was originally from the ghetto. I didn't actually realise until I looked it up right now... I'd forgotten. Can't keep track of me own stories! Tukor Kep, incidentally, is (loosely) Hungarian for 'mirror image.' Vago is Hungarian for 'killer.' There's a bunch of other Hungarian words in there too... but I forget most of them

I know, I luve hearing those little things that only the author can reveal. ^_^ Hehe, but now I have an image of Vago, pouting, because he's not allowed into the Bird-names Gang. And Rail laughing triumphantly. Then Vago turns and says he's going to make his own gang of Hungarian words.
