I was going to lurk a bit first, but I'm bored, so here I am. I've been looking for a Chris Wooding fan forum forever (some nice aliteration there), so I figured I might as well just jump straight in.
I will try to be active, and may well be as I'm at university and bored. Bored, bored, bored.
Some background, hrm. I'm English... um...
First stuff I read by Mr Wooding was the Broken Sky series, which I found in a book fair back when I was at school. I was attracted by the shiny, manga cover and was intelligent enough to buy it! I followed the series religiously after that, so I own all the original small books with their pretty covers. A-yup.
I read the teen stuff and enjoyed it at the time and then everything died for ages... Until I found Weavers of Saramyr, shouted "Ooh, an adult fantasy book by Chris Wooding!" Took me a while to get around to reading them, but I read the Braided Path trilogy and adored it with all my heart and soul.
I've read some of Poison, but had to return it to the library (grr) and some of the Haunting of Alaizabel Cray, but I really couldn't get into the writing style after reading Braided Path.
I'm currently weaving my way through Storm Thief and thoroughly enjoying it. Rail and Moa are adorable together and Vago's just adorable anyway.
Mr Wooding writes the kind of stuff I've always tried to write and has the same kind of ideas, but with the awesome description and stuff, which is probably why I enjoy his books so much.
I may have to marry/kidnap him. ;D
That was a lot of waffle. Hullo. *waves*
