Let me introduce myself. I am... Maliris! *stops* I am not that good at introductions. XD Err... let´s start with the obvious. I adore CW and read every single book. I never get tired of annoying people with sentences like: "You should read the books, y´know!" or "Chriiiis!" or "Whee~ a new Wooding book!" I am living in Germany and was also born there. Thus I speak German as native language. But who cares anyway? I draw every time and doodle into my school books. You should see what my French book looks like. I read a lot. Every day. Every night. I have a soft spot for Fantasy-novels and the like but also adore treasure hunting books like "The Last Templar". I love treasure hunting themes. That´s why The Mummy 1+2, Indiana Jones and Sahara are some of my favourites. Apart from that I loooove~ Horror. Resident Evil, Alone in the Dark and all these totally~ bad Horror-movies. Sometimes all you can do is laugh! °v° Anyway, I listen to lots of music. Mostly Soundtracks like Danny Elfman, Alan Silvestri, Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams and so on and so forth. I love Victorian London and London in particular. If you wonder why... well, CW? Obviously? X3 I´d love to go there one day and stalk... I mean look for CW. Although I guess he´d be mildly terrified. Hah.... Yes. What else? That was a stupid introduction! X3 Who cares?! It´s his birthday today! Let´s cheer! Wheee~!

Careful! >:3
Well, it was 2003 I guess. Yes, Spring 2003. Fatefull year.
We were told by school to pay our local bookstore a visit with our German teacher. Because, y´know, kids these days don´t read anymore. And they wanted to make us read again. So, we spent a whole morning in the bookstore, looking at books. At first, I just couldn´t decided what to do. I wandered up and down the shelves until I just stopped and let my eyes roam on the shelf in front of me. A book cought my eye. A green book with striking red letters was staring down at me. I, being not really that tall, reached up, struggling for some seconds, then grapped it. I was staring at the most peculiar name I´ve ever seen in history. That was my thought anyway. It said: Alaizabel Cray. I had trouble reading that name. I decided to give it a try. Sat down on a coach and read what was written on the back. And I was hooked. I sat there rooted to the spot and knew I´d not leave without it. XD Sad enough, I first had to leave without it. Had to get some money first, y´know. But that´s not imortant! At home I started reading it and marvelled how wonderful this book was. My parents didn´t approve at all. They wanted me to read books like... well, highly acclaimed books... not these Horror/Gothic/Monster-novels written by some author no one had heard of before. I was defiant. And read on. And although the German version tried vehemently to spoil my fun by using Grammar impropperly or using words that simply don´t exist in German, I fell in love with the book. The setting gripped me. Even through the murk of an exeptionally horrible translation. The name Chris Wooding started to mean: "Horribly good author but sadly totally underrated!" and I started to annoy my friends with squealing: "Buy that book! Buy that book!" I guess, I would have succeded... if I hadn´t told them to buy that in English. They were probably taken aback by the foreign language. They just don´t know what they miss. Sadly. The stalking, adoring, started immediately after having finished Alaizebel Cray. I ran around dazed, muttering "Oh, wow... dammit. Wow..." And on my b-day 2003 I let my parents give me the English version. I was happy. And thus... my mania started. I ordered BSky, then the first TBP and his older works. I visited his homepage regularily and knew that regularity wasn´t really paying off as he updates rather inregularily. But I wasn´t giving up.
I was feeling accomplished. I had found an author for myself. If you want to put it this way, until 2003 I had only read books my sis or my parents had provided. I had been craving to develop my own taste of fiction. So I think, Chris means more than just horribly good author but sadly totally underrated. It´s like... I don´t really know. XD He triggered my "I only read books in their original language". I owe him really much. His books have become a part of what I am now. They have formed my personality.
And what is that?
A London-obsessed maniac with a tendency to quote from English books. And I am proud of it.
Thanks for asking. <3

London is but a stone's throw away for me.
Sorry, but I like rubbing it in...

Anyway, I listen to lots of music. Mostly Soundtracks like Danny Elfman, Alan Silvestri, Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams and so on and so forth. <3 Sorry, had to show my appreciation. Good soundtracks 0wn and I'm a particular fan of Hans Zimmer, though I have tracks that I really like from all of the composers you listed. ^^

Soundtracks rock. I´m happy there exists a fellow soundtrack-fan who appreciates the same composers. °v°~ Nothing better than a good book and nice background music~ X3
