They do have some good books, it wasn't a scholastic magazine we had to pick from though, it was a list the school had compiled themselves. Hmm, that probably explains the multitude of awful books on it.

Yeah, my school used to pick the books itself ... now I pick for myself ;D I got BSky off my brother though, after I realised they were by the same author as Alaizabel.
And, of course, fell completely in love with them <3<3<3 I've read them all soooo many times over. I think Chris Wooding has an amazing style of narrative; it's so descriptive, without overwhelming the reader and allows a complete visual imagining of the characters and surroundings.
And it doesn't hurt that I'm in love with most of the guys in in BSky .... <3 Lol.

I knew of broken sky from scholastic advertising it in the animorph books I used to read. My school had them so checked them out and then bought them At that point in the story Ryushi just seemed so... blond lol But he was nice to imagine It was Kia that made me want to read the earlier ones, just because I could identify with her the most. I'm glad that diffrent characters had diffrent reactions to deaths, mostly authors just have characters crying and feeling sad a lot. Bereavment is a lot more complicated than that. I loved how eventually characters began to heal, if the whole series was just about the grieving I wouldn't have finnished it. The series made me laugh a lot as well, perfect blending of comedy, tragedy, romance.... and Ryushi's blondness Mostly the characterization is excellent, especially the way Elani was portrayed, one minuite an adult, next a child. The world as well... I wish I was in it. I still long to be a part of it.

Yeah, I loved Elani so much I tried several times to put strangely mature young children in my stories. I could never pull it off.
Ryushi is SO blonde. I love it!
