Heya! How has reading Chris Wooding affected your all-day life?
For example, I have recently renamed my telly "panopticon" (word from Storm Thief) because the greek version of Latin "television" sounds ever so much nicer.
Also, sometimes when I order Asian food, I pretend it's from Saramyr. Okay, rarely. But it's fun to do.
Do you have any weird habits, any larger vocabulary or similar - because you read Chris Wooding?

Yeah, it totally has... D: Even if I risk to sound like a real dork: When I read Haunting in 2003 it made me realize how much I love horror-books/movies/whatever. Also did it broaden my horizon on the translation-subject. I vowed never to read a translated book (unless of course it´s originally in Hebrew. But French or English are fine.). And before that I hadn´t had a favourite author; which now I do. ;] Besides, I launched a (now dead) livejournal-community and a forum. XD So, all this is pretty much part of my daily life now...
And it´s great. °w°
As in book-wise: Yes, I started to get headaches from the philosophical themes because I was thinking too much about them. And when I see a mask, well, I have fun pretending it´s a Weaver´s mask. Even though people might look at me with a frown. Oh, and have you ever walked the streets of London seeing Wych-kin in every corner? *laughs*
Now you must all think I am weirder than you already thought. Oh well... <.<"

How odd that you should think of this thread after the weird thought I had this morning. I have to walk through a subway to get to the bus stop when I'm going to college and today I had the funny feeling that I was being followed. I looked back and there was no-one there. A few steps along I looked back again. Then, right at that moment, I started thinking about the rhyme about Rawhead from Haunting, and needless to say I didn't look back any more after that.

And smite me for going off-topic but I always wondered whether Rawhead still materialized if you made a semi-circle... That question has been bugging me for weeks but I considered it too stupid to ask in the "Annoy Your Author"-thread. *laughs*
I mean, if you go a semi-circle, well, it would look weird but it´s not really turning around. Is it? It would probably annoy Rawhead to no end... <3

Well, yeah, it's affected me a bit. His books have influenced my writing style, as well as character designs. My finacee and I constantly talk about who would play who in Chris Wooding movies. In some of the games I play, enemies will drop certain items, and one item is called a "Weaver Leg" so whenever I get that, I always wonder why the enemy had Vyrrch's leg. ^_^ I also helped to launch a LJ community, which was dead from the get-go. ^_^ And I joined this forum and now I have something to do at work~!

That's hilarious. I probably wouldn't have looked back either. And if I did, I'd probably end up freaking out. lol. Anywho, as for the CW books affecting my all-day life, I dont know. I dont think so. But I sometimes compare real people to the characters in the books.

They've broadened my vocabulary I guess... I started reading his books so long ago that it's impossible to tell really.
It did make me to scared to look behind me in the dark though. I was frightened of the dark already, but now I'm specifically wary of things behind me. As far as I can remember I've always been scared of mirrors, but that could have been exacerbated by the whole Jachyra idea.
Oh, and I occasionally find myself using the exclamation 'hearts blood!' (it's the one that gets me the second most funny looks, after 'bleeding hog monkeys!').

I had never noticed that about the word panopticon, with the Greek and Latin. Awesome =D
But it hasn't really changed my life or anything. To me, he's just another brilliant but relatively undiscovered writer. :[
A darn good one though *gives hearts <3 <3 <3*
