To copy and get more threads to do with the Braided Path, we have a second favourite character topic.
My vote goes into other for Cailin tu Moritat, with Avun tu Koli in second and Asara in third. This said, until the third book Asara was my favourite because she was a rather skillful manipulator, the reason why I didn't like her very much in the third book was her wish was... not in character I think is the best way to think about it.

Well, Tsata. Obviously. He was a really nice guy. Just what Kaiku really needed. Their relationship was so touching... I adored part two for the Kaiku-Tsata-chapters. And anyway, pash... I like his people, their beliefs and so on. And the ending of part three! °-° Awww~

Well, Asara. Yes, she´s cool but I admit I´m slightly scared of her. XD Her wish, though, showed that she was in the end nothing more than a human being. And I must say, it made somewhat sense to me. I wouldn´t call it out-of-character. I just think she wanted a family of her own. Even if she´s scary, mean, evil etc.

I also liked Kaiku veery much. Nice character developement. And she totally rocked. So there. XD

I admit out of character wasn't the right term, but it just felt that Asara's wish was not quite right.

Yes, it wasn´t really what I expected, too... but then I though "what else?". To kill every single human being? Have money? That would have been rather shallow... I was pleased with her wish, somewhat. It showed her vulnerable side. She wasn´t that scary anymore. XD

From the way it read, I got the feeling that her wish was to be killed, but she was too cowardly to not fight back.

*noob wave*
My favourite characters (plural) have to be Kaiku and Asara.
I love Kaiku for idiotically stubborn demeanour (she's just like me ;D) and determination. She'll always see something through to the end, no matter what it is and I find that very admirable. I was also just wishing the poor girl would get a break, bless her.
I adore Asara because she's so *good* at what she does and she's so gloriously cold. She's not one of these characters that's *just* cruel, either. She has a reason to be and she shows compassion occasionally. Asara often appears perfect, but she isn't; she has her doubts and though she shows it in a very strange way, she does care for some of those around her.
I think I found Asara the most interesting character, but it was Kaiku that I was rooting for all the time. I wanted Asara to have a happy ending, but, in my opinion, no one deserved one more than Kaiku.

I totally agree with you. I really wanted Kaiku to survive and have a happy ending. And that she even got her boyfriend~ *nods in approval*
And Asara. I actually thought she wouldn´t make it. XD Dunno why but something made be think that. Good thing she´s happy and alive. :3
Thinking about it, I realize that all characters had depth and credibility. Amazing... *thanks Chris*

You know, that last scene between Asara and Kaiku was just awesome. It brought everything full-circle, explained stuff, and leaves us wondering what exactly will become of Asara's children.

Asaras´s children... Hm, right... If they age in a different way I wonder if they just age and age and age or whether they stop at a "convenient" moment. I guess, the latter version.
I could imagine them being interested in amassing as much power as possible. So, maybe politics?
Or assassins.

I opt for latter, but consider this, in the future, there could well be two emergent factions, one which is born from Asara's offspring with their regenerative capabilities, whilst the other is born from the sisters of the Red Order.
Also, I reckon some combination of politics and assassins for them.

I reckon it'd be easy for any girl to associate with Kaiku. I liked her in the books, and I liked the development she went through. In oh so many books, there's not muc of a development going on for the protagonists, right?
I voted "other" to pay my respects to Reki tu Tanatsua.
I also like Tsata although it took some time to get used to him.

I went for Kaiku. To be honest, like almost everyone else here, it was a three-way tie between Kaiku, Tsata and Asara. As the latter two already had votes, I felt I should even things out.
I like Kaiku because she is just so easy for me to relate to, and is quite like me in some ways (mainly her stubborness). Then there's just the strength of her character, the way she manages to keep herself going through a situation that would completely destory anyone else. It's really inspirational. And, as said above, it is extroadinary to watch how she develops and changes over the course of the three books.
Tsata ... He's just so amazing! He makes me smile. I love how selfless and honest he is. I felt he and Kaiku made such a perfect match.
And Asara. I never found her scary, but I never really knew whether she was good or bad in the first two books. Not that it mattered too much as I liked her anyway. I had an inkling of what she wanted from Cailin from the conversations, but it was still a "Wow" moment when she told Kaiku. Their relationship was definitely the most compelling out of all the characters, and that last scene with the two of them always has me welling up.
I like pretty much all of the characters (even the ones I hated, if that makes sense) but those three are my clear favourites.

I went for Mishani (I haven't read the books in a while, mind) because form what I remember she was very... normal. She had to go through the same sort of stuff as the rest of them, but without an aberrant power or outlandish fighting skills to fall back on. I also loved her little sub-plot with her parents and the way she was first so prejudiced against Kaiku as an aberrant was very human.
I also loved Tane and Tsata and Lucia, but most of my favourites were silly tiny things. My sister asked me what my favourite character in the first book was and I said "the ipi" ^_^;

Yep, definitely the ipi.
Who's your favourite weaver, if any, and why?

Ok, so I already voted without finishing the series. I offer myself upon the altar of your scorn. I just, so far, really like Lucia. I was actually somewhat surprised to find no one else really liked her much. I'm now a little worried about what may happen that caused you to dislike, or at least to not regard her as one of your favorite characters...
