Yes, the title says it all.
Which Wych-kin do you admire most. Or... well, maybe "admire" isn´t such a good word. Agh, you know what I mean. xD
Mine would be the Draug. Really, sent shivers down my spine. I adored (in this creepy way) the scene in the tunnels underneath London. I was shaking all over back then. I love the way they herald their arrival. The air starts to cool til it´s near freezing, the air tastes salty and hell! I just loved the way Chris wrote it: "... like the darkest depth of the deepest seas." Really awesome! Or maybe I´m just weird. XD Anyway, the Drowned Folk. Nice name. It fits quite good, doesn´t it?
It is, to be precise, my favourite scene of the book. <...< I am weird.
XD
So, which´s yours?

I agree with you about the draug, but my favorite was the Cradeljacks, they were so cool. ;D

I quite like the draug. But i thought the thing that was putting the glowing stones outside the womans house was creepy . -Did it have a name? My favorite scene is probally when thaniel an Cathaline 'heal' that man who was scratched by the cradlejack. That was pretty cool! And jack the devil boy was fantastic but sooo creepy at the same time!!

Mine is... I actually really like the Wight. It scared the living daylights out of me.
Ditto the dog-rats, but do they count? They're ordinary rats infected with wych-kin, not real wych-kin...

A Wight is a shadow whaich causes necrosis when it touches people. Not nice...
Also, because it's a shadow the only way you can really defend yourself from one is if you're in pitch dark (or if you happen to carry flash grenades or magnesium flares...)

I enjoyed this passage, too. The chapter "A fiend in the sewer" was creepy. And funny because of Cathaline. X3
And yikes. Because who wants to switch off the lights when you know there´s some beasti lurking nearby! I know it´t the only way to not get killed but... creepy nonetheless!
And that´s why I always carry flashbombs around with me. You never know!

Oooh, the draug....that part scared me soooooo much! That's the first time I was ever scared by a book! Or scared reading a book, lol, either way.
But, yeah, that part with Alaizabel waking up and walking down the stairs *shiver* ooooh, it was great!

You should! I read Haunting many times. *coughs* No, I´m not weird. I can quote some passages! And I´m not ashamed. But seriously. Some bits are so wonderfully written! Just remember the one chapter in which all these Wych-kin run amok in the streets. The first chapter of The Darkening. I think it was that... oh it was so wicked! And the descriptions~ °w° I love the fact that some really gruesome scenes were described in such an ironic way. Or rather matter-of-fact. It made everything much more creepy. And funny, mind you. I still think the Wych-kin are an excellent foe. They are many, malicious and carnivorous. And you never know what charms you need. I think I liked this best. "Wychcraft is not a science; rather, it is ninety per cent guesswork and ten per cent superstition. [...] Trial and error, sir." Page 60. Because it´s horrible to not know what you´re up against.

Rawhead for sure (wait, is rawhead a wych?? oh well anyways >_>) , "Rawhead close behind your treads, three looks back & you'll be dead, but count to ten & Rawhead will be gone again" *tries to not look back*

Rawhead was uber-cool, too. Can you imagine how terrifying he'd be in real life? *shudder* Or how terrifying they'd all be in real life! EEP!

*imagines a world that is just like the one described in the book* Oi, cool! From now on it´s black clothes and katanas for me! *let´s hunt some wych-kin*
Or not. But sheesh, it would make the Saarland much more interesting... well, deadly. And the rest of the world, of course. Although, deadly is the more appropriate word.
Rawhead is a wych-kin. He was created by these bad-guys and even if he was actually some mythology´s creature it makes him wych-kin. They all are, after all, inspired by some vicious monsters that originate from mythologies. The draugs for example. Or the deildegast...
Where does he come from, I mean, really...? Was it African mythology?
