This is hard, there are so many! But I'd have to say: 1. Big Fish 2. Finding Neverland 3. All the King's Men 4. Girl With a Pearl Earring 5. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl Not sure about the last one... there are about a dozen others that are just as good, but I can't decide.

There's no possible way for me to narrow it down to just 5 in any category. I'm too indecisive. >.>

D: There are a lot more. King Kong and Constantine for instance. Or lovely trashy horror movies. I forgot Scoop. ;_; Yeah...

In no particular order:
1) Pride and Prejudice 2) Lord of the Rings (all 3 of 'em) 3) Pirates of the Caribbean (can they all count as one, again?)
That's all I can think of right now...

Only five? That's tough...
1. Star Wars IV/V/VI (it varies depending on my mood) 2. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind/ Princess Mononoke/ Howl's Moving Castle (also varies depending on my mood) 3. Sleepy Hollow 4. The Prince of Egypt (ooh, religious) 5. Sense and Sensibility
I also love Gormenghast (the BBC series) it's only four hours long, but I don't think it counts because it really is a series not a film.
Oh, and I've disqualified a bunch of things because really I like them for their sentimental value, not because they're good films. Things like Peter Pan, The Dark Crystal, Aladdin, Dune, Alice in Wonderland...

Oh god. Off the top of my head some of my favorites are:
Whisper of the Heart Lion King (whoot, nostalgia) Spirited Away The Broken Hearts Club Thank You for Smoking
God, too many. It depends on if it's my emotional response or if they're a GOOD film, you know?

I found it really hard to narrow it down, but here's my attempt at a top five:
1) Pirates of the Caribbean (all three, muahahahaha!) 2) Ace Ventura When Nature Calls (an old favourite) 3) My Girl 4) Cry-Baby 5) Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
There's still so many favourites after that. Most of them are Johnny Depp films - I've seen 26 of his films so far (including the ones listed above) and have loved every single one!

I forgot The Lion King. I love both 1 and 2. ;D I also really like The Da Vinci Code for reasons unknown. It's not all that great of a movie and doesn't do the book justice, but I find its unintentional humor funny. (That was extremely akwardly worded. ) "I do have a plane (!!!)." XD

Really? I htink the film of the Da Vinci Code was kind of better than the book. I mean, at least in a film you don't have to stuggle through the awful writing. It's such a good story, he totally should have planned it all out and then given it to somebody else with a good writing style...
I might be vaguely biased though, because being an art lover the title annoys me. 'da Vinci' just means 'from Vinci' (a town). If people in the art world can't be bothered to say his full name they usually say 'Leonardo'.

I didn't like how the movie brought the Council of Shadow (or whatever it's called) from who knows where. It wasn't in the book and I don't think the movie needed it. I suppose it's just a way to get the audience to sympathies with the main characters. But I really liked Aringarosa's more human motives in the book. In the movies he's just some random homosexual guy with no other connection to wanting the Grail than being Catholic. What part of the writing style didn't you like?

Hmm, I suppose that's true...
I don't know what it is about it, but I'm an English Literature student, I know bad writing when I read it. I might have been spoiled by reading so much Chris Wooding and Eoin Colfer (who both have a really engaging style) but it just seemed so... I can't tell exactly, something about it just grated with every book-loving part of my brain. It was sort of flat and clunky, if that makes sense.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. But the writing style does fit what the book's about. XD
