I've been naughty and read a little (okay, over 100 pages) of it, even though I wasn't supposed to start reading until my exams finish. I just couldn't resist it. Loving it so far!

I just finished it up. As far as pacing and all that kerbosh, I was a little confused at first as to what I was expecting from it, as I couldn't decide whether I was anticipating this particular thread carrying over into future books or not, but this is a good thing. In fact, as a whole I thought my expectations were nicely tossed around. The 'twists' as such were only visible by the time enough clues were given, and when revealed to the characters weren't really treated as revelations to the readers (which is a roundabout way of saying I didn't find it patronising), but the plot progression itself was constantly going in directions that weren't expected or immediately obvious. As usual, for Chris, I guess. Also kudos for making me want to read lots, lots more without having to use a cliffhanger, but instead with genuinely involving and entertaining character dynamics/interactions/less-pretentious-word-for-the-same-thing that I can't seem to get enough of. Of course, the prologue blog (problogue?) was there to reread, but now I'm glad I took my time to get through this. I imagine if I'd just sat down and finished it in an afternoon, I'd spend the subsequent evening champing at the bit for more - not because it was too short, but because it felt like no amount would be too much. Unfortunately, a lot of my thoughts on the strong points of the book and the writing overlap with things I've previously said about other books by Wooding. Which is about as much a complaint as saying 'Jeez, you're so reliable, Chris'.
Of course, for the sake of brevity, you could replace the greater part of this post with high pitched elated squealing, accompanied by a very wide, very satisfied grin.

I always feel bad when somebody finishes a new book before I have even obtained it ;_;
I'm a disgustingly slow reader, the last book I read took me about 2 months.
I didn't even know this was out yet! I'm a disgraceful fan!

Retribution Falls is a quite short read - especially compared to stuff like any of the Braided Path books. It took me from Wednesday to Friday, but I was quite busy. However, I suspect that taking longer to read it may only maximise your enjoyment of it.

I am so naughty! I finished reading it this morning. So much for not reading until exams were over... But I absolutely loved it! So it was definitely worth losing a few hours revision time to read it, really.

I didn't even know this was out yet! I'm a disgraceful fan! Join the club, though I don't consider myself a "fan". I like to think of myself more as an Admirer/Critic/Loud mouth, who has a tendency to put his foot in it, usual through a case of mis-phasing or becoming way to overzealous. Anyway, like you I yet to acquire “Retribution Falls”. I had pre-ordered it, but it’s been lost in the post (apparently). I’ll probably head up to Waterstones and purchase it there. Anyway, like you Raihor, I'm an unbelievably slow reader, though that's partly to do with the special needs.

It's awesome, isn't it? Always had a soft spot for airships and the like, to be honest, so this was heaven to me. And something I learnt not so long ago: The name Delirium Trigger is not only the name of that one airship but also a Coheed and Cambria song title. Thank you, wikipedia! (Which was kind of funny as I had asked Wollschaf why someone would call their ship the Delirium Trigger. Heh.)

I'm going to the west end tomorrow, hopefully will be able to pick up a copy at Borders.
I do love airships and the like too. Firefly + Crimson Skies, one person describes this book as. That's like, 3 of my favourite things mashed together (the 3rd being Chris), *drools*

Felt more akin to Firefly + Skies of Arcadia for me, but that works!

Yay! I was wondering how long it'd take someone to spot this. I thought it was obvious but after the Storm Thief/birds thing I wasn't sure anyone would get it Gold star for Maliris!
