I know, Chris needs more fans over here in America. But...that's why I preoder. At least that way, I get my books around the same time as the people here.

Yeah, I'm planning to do that for the next. I kind of... forgot to order Malice until about a week or two after it came out, so that's why I'm still waiting for that...

Cracking the American market would be a huge boost, but it's a curious one. Does he want such huge, dizzying sucess to the point that he has legions of fans fighting each other over pointless stuff (Yes, I'm well aware of the irony) like Harry (spit here) Potter. Or does he just he want to continue making a comfortable living and talk to us mere peasents? It's an interesting question.

Well, I don't think he would become that successful over here. This is on no account an attack at his writing skill, because Chris is an amazing writer, but I think that what he writes (as in the genre and such) isn't the type to produce fame and fortune herabouts. At least, not where I live. But I'm still in high school, so I could be wrong. I've much yet to learn about the sociology of America.
Anyhow, it'd be nice for him to be read enough over here that his books are in at least one bookstore on the whole east coast.

And you're right to a degree. But, know what? I like Chris being this sort of indie author, it's the kind of thing I wouldn't mind being if I ever published (which is starting to look to really promising).

It would have been a whole lot easier to just say it that way. And I like it as well. There's nothing better than being off the beaten track, in my opinion!

I agree that I like his small but loyal fan base, but it'd be nice for us Americans to actually have access to his work semi-consistently. And I'm sure he can be more popular without being like Stephenie Meyer or J.K. Rowling.

You know what? I love this fandom more than I ever loved another fandom. It's small, yes, but lovely and friendly. I wouldn't be looking after this forum if it weren't so. In the history of this board, there has only been one idiot thus far. I think that's pretty good. So you can feel all flattered now because you are quite the awesome bunch. :3 And lest I forget: my local bookshop has the German edition of Chris' "The Fade". It's again Bastei Lübbe but after reading bits here and there I realised that it's actually quite accurate and well translated. Still, the title is a bit "meh": "Welt aus Stein" (--> "World of Stone"). Would probably be a nifty title if it didn't have to compete with "The Fade" and its deeper meaning. Or I am just pernickety. As for the competition: Sheesh, I really wonder what he'll ask... D: I'll probably fail again, anyway. Heh... XD

In the history of this board, there has only been one idiot thus far. Oh come on. Look I admit I've got it wrong in the past, but that's a little harsh. Can't you just brand me as overzealous, though slightly misguided with facts? ;D

I don't recall- was he banned or did he just leave?
