I don't usually find slapstick funny, but two things that can always make me smile are people falling over and people walking into doors.

I prefer comedy that makes you kinda think. Intelligent comedy, I suppose. Oh, and I can't resist a good pun. ^_^

I tend to find puns more annoying than entertaining, but I do love all the puns in Shakespeare. There's a huge long scene in Measure for Measure where some men seem to be talking about french velvet and coins and pirates, but if you deconstruct all the puns and references it turns out they're saying "you've got syphilis." "No, you've got syphilis!" "No, you've got syphilis!"

Well, I'm glad his antics have given you joy. ^_^ I'm sure that was his intention, as well. Of course it wasn't to cause harm to ANYONE, noooo. He put aside his "morals" and stole a paper purely to bring you joy. Uh-huh...yep, that's what he did all right. ~_^ Wow, how kind of him! I like it that I laugh at simple things. Plus it's even more funny when you see the besmused look on people's faces when they just can't understand what on earth you're laughing at. It just makes the whole situation even funnier. Something I always find hilarious is those videos of animals doing strange things. For example: youtube.com/watch?v=pIqhUCZgwXQ. Funny Cats!

I dunno, some of those cats look like they got hurt... Like the one on the cactus, that wasn't funny at all! The one hissing at itself in the mirror was hilarious though, and the one squeezing out under the door.

I know the scene you're referring to in Shakespeare. I luve reading his work, only because a lot of it is funnier than people think, or then he meant it to be. The dramas are just hilarious at times. ^_^
My cats hiss at themselves in mirrors... They also run into walls, and my one cat got stuck in our railings on our steps because he was hunting a bird outside, and got himself stuck because he was too fat to fit through the bars. ^_^ Silly kitties!

My grandma's cat once got chased down the street by a very angry blackbird.

Oh, that would have been so funny! My girl cat luves to chase her tail. She usually perches on top of our couch's back, and chases it. Most times she gets so into it, she falls off the couch. And then will walk away as if saying, "I totally meant to do that."

The squirrels in our garden do that, they take flying leaps at the bird-feeder and sometimes miss wildly, but then get up and dust themselves down as if saying "That was totally deliberate, fooled you didn't I? Yes."

My grandma's cat once got chased down the street by a very angry blackbird. The same thing happened to my cat! I was washing up in the kitchen and saw a brown blur being chased by a black blur. I found it highly amusing.

Grandma said their cat was sneaking up on the bird, obviously thinking "Aha, I am so clever, this bird has no idea I'm here." and the bird was standing very still looking like "Not this again..." so it waited until the cat was just about to pounce, and then flew as fast as it could right at him and chased him around the house, out of the driveway and all the way down the street. A few minutes later the cat came back doing its best not to be noticed by other cats in the neighbourhood.
