Okay, I know that technically if any of us got to name a 'planet' it would really be a... something object... whatever Pluto and Xena are, but still.
If you discovered a new 'planet' and so got to name it, what would you do? Name it after yourself? Use a classical name? Name it after a favourite character?
I know we'll get some Chris Wooding names (we are all fans after all), so out of his characters I think Mishani, Lucia and Aurin are the most planet-like names. Considering names like Miranda, Xena and Triton I would probably name a new planet one of those.
So, what would you peeps name a planet/moon/orbital object?

No clue. I wouldn't want to name it after myself, though. That, to me, is just too much. I'd either think later that I was being too egotistical by naming after myself, or I'd think that I'd be pressured to do something even greater with my life. And I like being a lazy slob who sits at home and plays video games and reads Chris Wooding books, heh heh.

Planet of Love.
I'm kidding. I'd be having a hard time coming up with something original and pleasing at the same time. But it wouldn't be after some book's character.
Although, Saramyr certainly has a ring to it.

Bob (anyone who's seen Titan A.E. knows why I chose that).

@ marleen:
If not after a book character, might you name it after a mythological figure? After all most of the existing planets and their moons are named for Roman gods. I thought of 'Aurelia' first, but I think it's been used, so then I tried to think of other pretty names and thought of Lucia, which led me on to wondering if it would be good to name it after a book character, seeing as the names seemed so suited to a celestial body.

Bob (anyone who's seen Titan A.E. knows why I chose that). Ha ha! Yes! Wow, haven't seen that movie in years. Poor, poor Nathan Lane...ok, anyways. No real point to that, lol. My iPod's named Slyvia, but that's not a very celestial name...Although I think it'd be fun to name a planet or whatever a name that everyone would hate, but they'd have no choice, lol. Like, name it Fluffy McStarsbottom or something. Just the bug people. ^_^

Actually, I'd probably name a series of four planets after The Beatles.

Hm~ my problem with names. °-°"
I would pick the name of some Norse god. Or a place. For tis be my favourite mythology. But I doubt anyone wants to live on a planet called Hel. Or Loki, that is.
But I always thought Asgard sounded spiffy. Or Bifröst. But that´d confuse people who cannot type the "ö". Or maybe something alltogether different. But I cannot really think of anything. Teaplanet?
My iPod is called Geddoe. Because Geddoe is great and not as annoying as most of the other characters in Suikoden III...

DANGIT! Someone got to bob before me! I loved that movie tremendously!
Anyway, yeah, Bob's as good a name as any. Maybe Varia though, from my story...

Oh, Norse mythology for the win!
I loved the idea of the Valkyries best. Even though they're too romanticsied in art. -sigh-
Asgrad's a lovely name. -likes the Norse names-

I'd get a whole galaxy and name each planet after all eight of my multipal personalityes: Jewles, Artemis, Chi-Chi, Yasu, Fredricka, Ubel, Sofie and Melissa. (That is eight, right? My math teacher always says: There are three types of people in the world: People who can count and people who can't.)

Or, as we're still here, Anteros.
Anteros would be a lovely planet.
