Calica can have Ryushi, as long as Aurin gets Tatterdemalion. (Which she didn't. *sigh*) I'm resigned to supporting Aurin/Whist.

Aurin and Tatterdemalion is a fitting yet very disturbing thought... of course he wasn't always a Jachyra.
Aurin and Whist is more normal, though they only seem to be friends. Running away with your father's killer is always a good idea.

I'm sad about the Jachyra all dying. Maybe if they'd survived they could find purpose or become happy or something. *sigh* Realism. I don't really like happy endings too much. Not if they're too happy.
Also what lisa said about Aurin/Whist- quite true. That would probably work too. Or what I think is that Aurin could find love somewhere else. It is a large world (well, worlds technically)

Because I still like Aurin better than Calica, who shouldn't have had Ryushi in the end. I have agree with this (that’s a shocker). For me, I just found Calica too much of a Mary-sue. There was nothing really about her that made her standout from the other characters, expect for, she didn’t have any real human flaws – she was perfect. A beautiful, brilliant swordswomen with an iron will, a genius mind, strong leadership, could see into the future, had a unique mark on her, had a unique weapon, was a skilled wyvern rider, was connected to royalty, was brought into Parakka at a young age, had a dark and tragic childhood; it just goes on and on and on! Oh and she gets the main guy! Any scenes with her were basically just Chris telling us how awesome she was. Using terms like “Calica felt a wave of dizziness sweep up to claim her, but she force it away. She would not faint, not even in the face of the overbearing, unbelievable relief and ecstasy that swamped her, or the immense exhaustion that settled on her shoulders.” Then she turned water into funk and fought a Balrog single handily, while swimming the Atlantic Ocean and baking a cake for all the hungry children in Darfur. I mean even the Keriags honour her. Eh, it makes me so angry. Because the ending was one of the things that ruined the series for me. I mean it was awful! It was like one of the fanfic were the super-special-awesome character comes in and sweeps the hero of his feet. One of those fics that are written by girls whom love their “SASUKE-KUN!” so much! And so insert themselves into said fic and get the hero to fall madly in love with them. Bleh, say I. In fact for a joke, I took a Mary-sue test for Calica and she score a jaw dropping 68, well over the level. Actually if you're interested have a go. www.springhole.net/quizzes/marysue.htm Smaug

What kind of a world is it where somebody is flawed because they are too much of a great person? Aurin can TAKE Ryushi, I'm gonna steal Calica for myself. So yeah... ¬_¬ All this Anti-Calica hate makes me sad. She was the GOOD guy, Aurin was the BAD guy! Talk about hard-to-please! Edit: There's only one way to settle this: orokos.proboards55.com/index.cgi?board=allelse&action=display&thread=520

Okay, I admit, that looking back over my pervious post I was overly aggressive and bellicose with my words and sarcasm (good sarcasm mind). Raihor, if any of my words upset you in anyway, then I’m truly sorry. That was not intention. But, I won’t lie about how I feel about this character – I’d tell Chris to face (once I helped him up from the floor after I glomped him). As for Aurin begin evil… well the thing is… she wasn’t. I’m not going to say she was innocent creature that was tricked and forced to do these terrible things (though I could if I wanted to). But I will say this. If Aurin was really evil, then Ryushi’s words would have had no effect on her. The fact she began to question what she was doing, were the first signs of her true character. Like Ryushi, she didn’t blindly follow, she questioned and thought about things and then came to the conclusion that what she was doing was wrong and cruel. She then begins to feel sorry for what she’s done and, to a degree, repents. BUT, she does not become a saint. Now I admit that her feeling for Ryushi did probably have something to do with it – like Kia hatred for Macaan. However, she still searched for the answer herself. And that is good character development. Now Calica didn’t get any. She doesn’t change or grow. But you know. I’ll stop here and take it to the debate room. Let me stress this again. If I hurt your feelings then I am sorry. Smaug

What kind of a world is it where somebody is flawed because they are too much of a great person? Amongst people I know, you'd be flawed because you would be deemed a try-hard, or more to the point, a loser. Don't worry smaug, I thought your post was hilarious.
