I started reading Broken Sky (borrowed the books from my friend) a long time ago, and forgot about them until recently. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that I was playing FF6 at the time, but if there's one thing I remember about the books, it's that I remember thinking the whole time that it would make a perfect RPG. Just recently, after past programming experiments that I'm satisfied with, I've decided to make an RPG of Broken Sky. I'm ordering the books again on ebay now, but until they get here, I'd like to start planning everything out, and maybe even putting together the world map. Problem is, I can't remember if there was an illustration of the world in the books are not. If so, could someone scan, or link me to them? If not, could anyone List the major areas of the world, and where they are in relation to eachother. It would be a great help to me! Thanks

2D old-style console RPG is certainly the way I would go with Broken Sky. It'd also be interesting to start Ryushi off with his one 'spell' that not only saps all of his 'MP' at once, but also lowers his stats to the point of uselessness - and then as he develops give him a range of lower-cost versions. A neat twist on the typical ability progression.
I'll grab my copies of BS tomorrow and take a look for you, but I don't think a definitive map was ever included - I seem to remember looking for something similar when I made the BS wiki page (which I should really get back to editing at some point).
So, what're you using to work on this? Some version of RPG Maker, I take it? I'd be interested to see the tools you're working with, since none of them are really available to a non-Intel Mac user such as myself.

Wow, I was starting to think no one would reply. I'm using a program called RPG Toolkit, which is much more customizable than rpg maker. Also, it saves it into a standalone game so anyone can play it. I had a feeling there weren't any world maps in the books. But even a general idea of where things are in relationship to eachother would help. I don't want to go creating the world map, then find out i did it wrong... ^_^;;;

There isn't any world maps for BS.
Once you've figured out a world map for the Dominions though, doing it for Kirin Taq should be relatively easy, considering all the main places in Kirin Taq are in the same spot as their 'copies' in the Dominions.

Oh yeah, that's right! That'll make for some cool Link to the Past style puzzle solving! If anyone has all the books, could they please help me out with all the areas, and how they relate to eachother? It would help alot!

Don't quote me on any of the following, because I don't have the books at hand:
The Dominions:
- desert is at the south of the continent (Jedda's camp, some of the mines) - Gar Jenna is north of the deserts - the Citadel is either north-east of Gar Jenna, or north-west, on the coast - Tusami City is on the opposite side as to the Citadel (either north-east or north-west). I'm pretty sure the Citadel is north-east. - Nomads are in the middle somewhere - Osaka Stud/pilots training camp/Macaan's palace (or so I've assumed)/other various villages are all up north of Tusami City - Ley Warrens everywhere
Kirin Taq:
- Omnicaa should be in the same spot as Tusami City (so most likely north-west) - Fane Aracq should be in the same spot as Macaan's palace (so north somewhere if we go by my imagination) - Base Usido is I think on the south-west coast
My memory is kinda useless for Kirin Taq, but take all of the above with a grain of salt.

I believe the continent is loosely divided into five; mountains to the north (Osaka Stud, Tusami City, the Pilot's Guild etc.), deserts to the south, cliffs to the west (mechanist's citadel etc.) and steppes to the east (noman territory). Where these meet in the middle there's a vast temperate zone where most of the population reside.

A Broken Sky RPG sounds brilliant! If anyone's ever played the Dragon Quest games, that's how I'd imagine a full-on version to be.
