Yay, I have it now! I'm only 70 pages in as I'm trying to read it slowly. I'm finding it very difficult though!

I'm reading my copy as well. My fiancee very much loved it. Liked it better than Poison and Storm Theif and all the others...She placed it just under Haunting. I'm liking what I've read though.

It'd take a lot to be over Storm Thief... I can't wait! *explodes*

Well, yeah, but to me and my fiancee, Storm Thief wasn't the best of his works. Her order of favorites goes something like this: 1. Haunting 2. The Fade (now) 3. Poison 4. Crashing/Kerosene 5. Storm Thief 6. The Braided Path
Whereas mine is more like this: 1. Poison 2. Haunting 3. The Braided Path 4. Crashing/Kerosene 5. Storm Thief
And no clue where The Fade will go yet. So, yeah, don't get your hopes up that much since we didn't like Storm Thief as much as everyone else. >_>

True...
I'll be getting it today, tomorrow, or the next day. I can't remember.

I tried to have it finished by today, but I failed. >_< I don't want to rush through it, and I forgot it at home while I was in class yesterday. >_< But, it's here with me at work! Muahahaha!

I'd like to get it, but I don't think it's been released here yet, if ever. And I'm picky about fantasy novels (I didn't like Haunting....) so I'd want to be able to read a bit of it first before running off and buying it online.

I suppose if one of us were feeling really keen we could type up the first couple of chapters for you to read online. Doesn't your local library order books in if you ask nicely though?

I wouldn't do that; I doubt my publishers would look on it very kindly. When I update my site I'll post up an extract (probably the first chapter) and you can have a look then. The Fade should be out in Australia though, they tend to be linked to the UK market automatically (ie books coming out here come out there).

I don't know if a library would order it from another country... I've only ordered books at libraries from other libraries.... that's a good idea. I'll head to a sci-fi/manga shop that should sell it if we do get it (Chris, they've got all your books BUT Broken Sky - which Australia doesn't seem to have, nor ever have had), but I shall read the extract first. I really don't want to have to order it from the UK... I ordered the new Broken Sky book a month ago from Amazon UK and I'm still waiting... Edit - I'm guessing this is it: www.minotaur.com.au/site.asp?action=detail&ID=831417&area=home&issue= - in which case Australia is getting it at some stage.

I have it. Oh gawd. XD Took me some time to get my hands on it- the parcel was delivered to my sister´s home because back then I had no name tag on the mailbox. But when the parcel arrived my sis wasn´t home so they put it in a parcel-depot thingy where I could pick it up. I did but had to walk something like a kilometre or more and then, standing in front of the building, realized that a tram-station was just in front of it. Made me look like this: D: Anyway, I got it. Still, they made a mistake when they printed it... the cover is upside down. Which can only be seen when I take the dustjacket off so it´s not so bad. Besides, I like my copy the way it is. I really like it thus far. They are about to break out which is good because I want to see more of the world. The chapter-numbers confused me at first but now I really love the idea. Have to go now. At the moment I have no internet access. :< Don´t do anything evil or mean while I´m away.

I forgot about the extracts bit on the website.
The cover is one upside-down? How amusing! My copy doesn't have a dust-jacket, it's a giant paperback instead of a hardback...
