So, friends, the ultimate question: DID Vago/Tukor Kep murder all those people? Was Bane lying? Somewhere in between? I always got the impression that it was unclear.
If he did murder them, why? Was he just a bas-tard? Wanted to help a loved one survive? Were they bad people? Was he a bad person, or did he feel guilty over it?

I'd have to read it again, but I think he did murder those people. I don't remember though.

I think he did kill them. Which just makes Moa's forgiveness all the more powerful.

I think he did murder them and was a bad person, but it doesn't matter because to my mind Vago is totally different person to the man he was made out of.

Vago will always be my favorite character no matter what angle I look at him from.

Yeah, in my mind, Tukor Kep and Vago are 2 different entities. But yeah, I think I believed that he did kill them. I'm re-reading Storm Thief right now though, so we'll see. ^_^

Yeah, in my mind, Tukor Kep and Vago are 2 different entities. Same here. Now I want to know more about Tukor Kep. *goes into dark room to plot fanfiction*

But you'll need a murderer/criminal. Or something. And I don't think any of us fit that bill unless they're sitting in jail.

I think he did murder the people and was a bad person, but started to feel guilty, and that's why he volunteered himself to the Protectorate (via Lysander Bane, or at least i think that was his name, but am to lazy to look it up)
And yeah, I agree about Vago and Tukor Kep being different entities, although to be honest, I never really liked Vago that much anyway

I'm pretty sure it was explained that he killed loads of people, winded up on death row, and rather than being turned into human oatmeal decided to be a test subject for Bane's crazy experiment. His mind was wiped during the process, but it's my belief that his being, his soul or whatever was left unchanged. So he basically got a fresh start at life, a tabula rasa if you will.

I'm not a big fan of Vago either, lol. For some reason, I just didn't connect with the characters in this book. *shrug*
Was it ever explained why Tukor Kep was killing in the first place? Just insane or was there a reason? I'd assume there was a reason, but who knows. Maybe the reason is a probability storm, lol.
Sheesh, I can't remember any of Tukor Kep's backstory. >_< What did he do before jail? Just hang around, killing people?
