I haven't finished reading me my Storm Thief yet, but so far I loves it <3 And apparently Rail and Moa loves each other too, but not in a romantic way...but still in a love yay way...<3 I love non-romantic love. Platonic I guess. So fun! Also Rail is hot....and Vago is teh coolies. ...Yeah, that's pretty much my contribution.

XD *chuckles*
Yea, Vago is cool~ xD
And it´s also true that this is a totally not overused love story. They depend on each other. And this is something that does not need romantic candlelight dinner. <.< They´re such a cute team. ._.
I especially loved page 291... *squeee*
The book is great.

Even though I haven't read the book at all, I just wanted to put my two-cents in that I adore it when a writer can properly convey non-romantic love between people, becuase it's a very powerful and true part of life that I think is one the the most difficult to show correctly.

So true! I wouldn´t know how to write that... just something like a normal friendship but really hard to write.

Vago = Mewtwo? Mmmmm, crazy creatures. I agree....the way Crhis describes it is so teh coolies @_@ Makes me wish he did that for Broken Sky. I know, he should just write more Broken Sky <33 Though the more I read it, the more it seems romantic...but good romantic <3

I love the relationship between Moa and Rail. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside (and not much can do that to me, believe me).
It's not very often that the sort of heavily dependant brother and sister relationship is portrayed in books... it usually takes a romantic turn, which I disapprove of. A guy and a girl can have a powerful relationship without being *in* love.
It's great, I love it. Kudos to Mr Wooding. ;D

I have sisters, so I loved the relationship between Moa and Rail because it was so perfectly fraternal. It was a brilliant representation of the sort of sibling relationship that is such a huge part of life.
I too get annoyed with the way those sorts of characters usually end up together, I don't get this fear of writing platonic girl-boy love that most authors seem to have.

Well, you know, Rail does almost kiss Moa; and he sort of did toward the end, if you count breathing air as one. But I love that it's not openly declared - they love each other deeply and both know it; and they don't express it in the usual way either. I love this book so much especiallly because of Rail and Moa. I absolutely adore the way the platonic relationship was put across. I wouldn't say it's a sibling sort of relationship.. To me it's just... something that's already THERE, and it has this sort of finality to it; you just KNOW they'll remain together till the end. And it *is* romantic, in a very abstract, special sort of way. They need each other, and there's always this unspoken "I'll die protecting you if I have to" mentality..... Beautifully done indeed. I haven't read many of the other books, but even if they're better, this one will forever hold a special place in my heart. xD I'm going to buy it, first chance I get.

Even with the kiss, I still think it was more sibling love. I think they love each other like siblings, but because neither of them has any family they don't realise it themselves; they know they love each other so because they're the opposite sex they both kind of assume it's that sort of love, when really it's simpler than that. It seemed to me like they'd stay together for ever but also both find a boyfriend/girlfriend.

I'm pretty tired of romantic relationships in movies and books. There are some exceptions, but for the most part, they're old. Yay for friend-love.
