Let´s talk about Moa.
Normally, I really don´t like weak characters that are more like a burden. I stick to the strong ones. Not only physically strong but also strong minded. As with Moa, I somehow had to like her. I don´t really know why, but she was just... cute. In a way. She supported Rail although she really wasn´t someone who could fight. Maybe it was the fact that she herself hated her weakness. I dunno. She was just friendly. And formed with Rail an awesome team. XD Maybe, I like her eye shadow. <...<
Tell me~ Did you like Moa or did you think she was annoying?

And mark Spoilers. <3

Personally Moa was my favourite character. I'm all for weak physically weak characters, but mentally strong, and they can make the best characters, as it was in this case.

That´s true. Also as I can somewhat identify myself with her for I cannot really run for very long. XD (Hints at horrible school sport lessons. *shudder*)

But Moa is strong beneath all that weakness. She wants to help and she tries as hard as she can to make herself more than a just a burden. I admire her. I might be a little biased 'cause she reminds me a little of one of my characters, but, hey, the girl's cute!

Yesh, she´s damn cute! I´d huggle her if she was real. But really, she and Rail make a perfect team!

I think weak characters get on most people's nerves, especially if you mostly read books for escapism. The thing I loved about Moa was that she wasn't really a weak character, she was a strong character with a weak body.
Being very skinny due to eating problems, I can totally sympathise with her. I loved reading about a person who had all the admirable personality traits one likes in a main character, but some of the physical handicaps that usually set characters in books apart from real people. The endless endurance and bursts of strength can be a bit depressing for a reader who can't even run 200 metres.

I don't like characters who make a big deal out of being pathetic, but Moa wasn't...
It wasn't a 'I WON'T do this' sort of thing... She won me over with her 'I CAN'T do this, but I. Can. Try.' attitude.
She's my favourite character in the book.

I loved that about her too, her determination was so amazing in contrast with her philosophy of just going with the flow.
That bit at the very end where she was trying to swim up and knew she wouldn't make it but kept going anyway was so... uplifting. She's my favourite character too.
I love her name as well. 'Moa', so pretty!

Umm, I'm late, but yeah, I liked Moa becuase I could relate to her. And it's rare to have that in such a highly fantasy setting. She was humanly weak, she wasn't the usual hero with either extreme strength or brains, and she was only as resourceful as a thief had to be. She was great

I love her name as well. 'Moa', so pretty! I agree. And I thought that Rail's always arguing about her beliefs of other worlds wasn't nice. That's kinda mean.

Yes, I do agree that Moa, though kick-arse, is weak. But, you must also think on the other side, that Rail is weak, too.

Could someon post the phisical description of Moa from the book. Not in you own words, please. I need it for an art project in school and have loaned my copy of Storm Thief to a friend.

I don't relate much to strong characters... also, most of the time, they're kind of the samish heroish type over and over again. Boring... weak characters are SO MUCH MORE interesting, and their fight is so much harder. And (for me, at least) it's easier to relate to them emotionally.
Moa was okay, but I liked that the strong characters in "Storm Thief" - Rail (master thief) and Vago (physically strong) both had major issues as well, physically as well as mentally.

When I hear the song Imperfection, by Skillet, I think of Rail, Moa, and Vago. XD That's how wonderfully well-rounded and messed-up they are.
