Heya there, fellow forum-dwellers! I have no idea whether people have already found this one. But given, also, that there´s no Nursery-thread yet, I decided to just make one and post what I´ve found here: Taken from hollywoodreporter.com:"Nursery" is being developed with director Michael Radford ("Flawless") from an original screenplay by novelist Chris Wooding. The story focuses on a young couple who move into a beautiful but eerie house during the wife's pregnancy. She soon discovers her unborn child's life is at risk. (The news were posted last year, October 31) Oh~ where can I sign for an extra-role? I look forward to it!

Nope, imdb doesn´t have anything. Yet! D: I´ve been testing imdb for some months now but nothing new came up.
Probably first when it´s "in the making".
There is next to nothing news-ish concerning "Nursery" on the net, yet. Yet! I guess, with passing time, there will be more. And more detailed news as well. Though I like to be surprised, which is why I didn´t want to read reviews of "The Fade" and was grumpy when I did. *laughs*
Which is also why I wouldn´t want to read more about the plot. Also, as it´s a horror-movie and when you give away too much and hint at the Great Twist at the end, well, then you totally kill the suspense and the exitement. But I´d still be happy to read something like "Shootings will start end of March". xDDD

Yay, a movie! After years of hearing rumors of screenplays... I'm not a big fan of horror, though. I wonder how this'll turn out.

I'm quite pleased that it's supposed to be suspense. I've thought of all his books as such.

'Ello all, sorry for long absence. I've been busy sorting stuff out as I am abandoning Madrid for sunny London once again in the very near future, and I got snowed with work again. Ironic that Nursery should turn up here, I hadn't actually seen that article and I'm in the process of redrafting it for the 8th (!!!) time. Basically development stalled for various reasons and it took two years (!!!!!!!!) to get it back on the rails again. That's why I gave up talking about screenplays and such-and-such; everything takes so incredibly long in the movie industry that people get bored of hearing about it and never seeing the final product. As it stands it's a way off from production but we still have Michael Radford directing and Future Films producing so it's looking healthy. Everybody needs the script to be just perfect before we take it out to cast it, as you only get one chance really. So that's what we're up to at the moment, after a long delay. Other news in brief: have been editing Malice, that's all looking pretty good, and am waiting on Gollancz to come back with a deal on a new SF/fantasy adult series/serial (whichever it is when they're standalone books but starring the same characters & world, I never know). Will let you all know when/if everything's agreed. Meantime, I've been writing another screenplay for a UK producer, but I'll let you know more when/if that gets a bit closer to the finish line...

Le Gasp! You're coming back to England? Yay!! I went to a talk/book signing by Eoin Colfer yesterday and it made me kind of sad because I thought I suppose I'll never get to see Chris in person, 'cause he's not exactly famous and, more to the point, currently resides in Madrid, Spain... (Haha, my internal monologue is stupidly precise.)
I'm so looking forward to the film, even if it does take years to come out! I can just imagine the amazing suspense and general superiority of your writing in a film.
P.S. Someone asked Mr Colfer when an Artemis Fowl film would be made and he said "Six months after my DEATH!" because a film studio has been working on it practically since the first book came out and there's still no real progress. At least yours is going slightly faster than that.

I want to be able to squee at the cinema screen when "Written by Chris Wooding" appears.
And Chris, you should do talk/book signings, too. *prettyplease?* Though, I would have to bring all twenty books with me. <.<"

Oh, man, I'd come to England to go to a book signing! Hell, I already paid close to $100 for an autograph of his to someone else!
Heh, you should plan a big screening party-thing for Nursery. Get a bunch of the forum people to go as a group. ^_^ Then there'd be lots of squealing at "Written by Chris Wooding" ^_^

A book signing would be neat. Also, London for the bloomin' win. Spain's great and all (Barcelona is something special), but London's where it's at. [/completely unbiased viewpoint]
