Could've been worse. I could have called him Wide Paul ;D

Very true. But I am getting used to Tall Jake now, though it's still strange to me, lol. And hopefully he's not short. That would just be sad, lol.

Tall Jake could be really creepy. I mean, a tall, scrawny man, wearing a long coat and a hood or hat... long, gnarled fingers with pointy nails and stuff like that. There is room for creepiness here.
And the coat is, of course, black or dark gray. Not pink. Of course...
As to Wide Paul... Erm. <_<

Well, yeah, of course he can be creepy, but his name really doesn't suggest creepiness, unless tall people creep you out. Jake isn't exactly the most evil name in existence, lol.

When I hear "Jake" I am reminded of He was cool. He was a kangaroo mouse. (I grew up with this stuff. Don't blame me! D: )

LOL! I grew up with the first one, so I never really cared for Jake, since he was trying to steal Bianca away. Such a romantic
And, still, you kinda proved that Jake isn't the most...dangerous name, lol.

I think Tall Jake is a very creepy villain name. It sounds like the names of villains like the Rag Witch or the Crooked Man. It implies a kind of looming quality.
Jake on its own just makes me think of an annoying jake in my secondary school.
'Wide Paul' XD

I always only thought The Rescuers was a book... *never knew it was a movie*
A kangaroo mouse?!

You have made me really want to watch The Rescuers now.
Anyway, I quite like the name Tall Jake. It conjures up some creepy images in my mind, at least.
Oh, and "Wide Paul" is now my name on MSN. Everyone thinks I'm crazy. ;D

Omg! Competition for autographed books! This is the HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE! Or rather, I am really happy today, for some reason. But amazing!!! I'll probably lose, but Idc, its worth a try. Knowing my luck it will be one of the books I haven't gotten my hands on, sadface.

I wonder if Chris will answer this...
About how many books are you giving out with this? Because I seem to recall you mentioned "a couple" or a "few" or something and I'm just curious if you have a number that's not quite so vague. ^_^

Lol. I'll tell you when I know myself for sure. I know how many I *intend* to do, but at the moment there's still a bunch of behind-the-scenes contractual stuff that needs sorting out, which I probably shouldn't talk about in public till it's sorted...

I've always felt like Jake was one of those weird names that don't feel especially deep. I mean, I could never imagine anyone named Larry being a tough-as-nails gangsta smoking a looong cigar in a back alley while cradling a pair of handguns.....It just doesn't work! The contest sounds awesome though....chances are, if I win my heart would probably stop and I'd never see the reward anyway.

Erm, no. Malice is coming out in 2009, at least that was the last news I heard. Feb, 2009, right? Or has the release been changed again?
