Boo! I fond myself ybrowesing thyse fyn forume, and yea I dide beholde no threed on thise greete and wondrous volume.
I can't be bothered to keep that up, but anyway, no thread on Kerosene? For shame! Anyway, I thought I would rectify this situation and here we are, I'll start:
Who else spend the whole book wanting to give Cal a big hug? He was just so unhappy all the time! Poor guy...
Also, I was impressed that Chris managed to find an appropriate fire-related word for each chapter title, that was very cool.

I luved Cal! I felt so bad for him the whole book. I don't know if I would have hugged him, but I would have helped him play with fire without buring schools down.

I don't think I would have been able to resist hugging him, especially since most of the time in that book he's wearing a too-big jumper.
I might have taken him to a psychiatrist, 'cause playing with fire is never advisable (I speak from experience, I used to be obsessed with setting things on fire, 'till I acidentally set light to my curtains and Mum forbade me from having matches) and he was burning stuff down 'cause he was unhappy, so with any luck I could cheer him up! Huggles for Cal!

Yay for huggles for Cal! Though I like fire, I'd like him to be happy, so huggle away!

Haven't read that in a while, but I did really like it. More than Crashing. And these are my two least favorite of mr. Woodings. But then, that still makes them more my favorite than more other books.
Kerosene was fun times. Pyromaniacs for the win.
I'm sorry, I'm tire.d

Really? Kerosene was one of my favourites! Well, actually that's hard to say because I like tham all more or less the same amount, but I certainly don't like it any less than the others (better than Crashing though).

I like Crashing and Kerosene too, but they're like my 3rd and 4th favorites. Well, Kerosene is 3rd, Crashing is 4th. I think one reason I like them so much is that they're so different than his other books, and still so good. I mean, you read Crashing and think about Haunting, and your brain just says "Quit trying to confuse me! Those aren't by the same person! I don't care if his picture is on the back of the books. It's a trick!" Or at least, that's what my brain says. ^_^

Yeah, it does seem really different! I find it hard to think of the normal YA stuff and the fantasy/sci-fi ones together too.

I guess that's just talent. ^_^ Or aging. But I think it's impressive that he can have so many writing styles, and still get them all published! I was always told when I was younger that I shouldn't try to get published only because chances were, I never would. HA! Little did they know I'd go on to publish a poem and a one-act play. Muahahaha! Ok, so I'm exaggerating with the play. It was supposed to be published in a literary magazine, but I forgot to submit my final draft. Stupid, no? *bashes head against desk* I'll always regret missing that chance...

Just forgot? Ouch. One of my poems was published in a collection, but that was something we were forced to do at school so it wasn't much fun seeing it in a book.

My poem was a little 4-line poem used for a wedding favor, but some woman took it, and said she published it, but I haven't seen it. Which is fine. I'm not a poet. I dislike most poetry, but my aunt needed something for her wedding favors so I just made it up on the spot for her.
The play I originally wrote was actually my interpretation of a Greek myth. I had used the myth before and made a home movie with some friends about it. So then I had to write a play, so I just used the movie to do it. I wrote the play, and it was given back to me for editing, and I made the changes, but I totally forgot about submitting it again. Finals. Not fun. Not good for memory either. And if I had published it, there was good chance a college would have actually performed it. *cry*

Aww *pats Zemira on the head* never mind, there will be other opportunities I'm sure.
Next topic of conversation! Abby's hairstyle at the end of the book, cool or weird and freakish?

Oh man...I don't remember it! Eek! Oh, darn, I'll just have to re-read it. ^_^ Darn the luck.

Okay, then I'll start. I thought it sounded really cool, but I never had a fixed mental image of her face so I couldn't be sure if it would really look cool or not.
My older sister thought it sounded weird and freakish...
