(Wow, Chris Wooding replied to us, heh heh. My brush with fame)
Anyways, YAY! I'm so glad that Cathaline is staying, although now I have to worry about Stitch-face...obviously, he's a pretty major character, but I can still him being (sadly) cut.
But I really hope this movie gets off the ground! All right everyone, time to write to New Line and beg for our movie!
BTW, have I mentioned how awesome it is that Chris Wooding can write his own movie scripts? That way, we can all have faith that they will be good and they won't butcher the movie!

It's worth mentioning that whilst I'm a stickler for canon, the way I see it is if Chris has actually written the script then a better way to think about it is as a stand-alone piece by him, thus any changes acceptable.

Hopefully they wouldn't mess Alaizabel up like they did Eragon >_>
And Hugo Weaving is hot. <3

ok, I doubt they messed up Eragon, becuase Eragon could only get better...*grrrrrrrrr*
OK, so I'm just bitter hat he's published and movie-fied and i'm not...so what?!
At any rate, if the Alaizabel movie comes out I'd watch it like...twenty times in theater a lone.

Adding to this Eragon-thing: Someone once claimed the dwarves were too tall.
I have not watched the movie nor do I feel the urge to watch it. XP

about Eragon: he was always a priss. And I'm sad that they did that to Arya, she was a little bit cool.

Oh xD I havent read the books, actually...Mom did and she was upset about what she heard though. They said they made him look, like, rich or something...and I hate stupid Stereotypical Warrior Chicks(tm). Also I can't tell which one she is seeing as there are no pointy ears?
The other thing I heard was that the dragon like randomly got her fire powers O.o

*briefly wonders how this turned into an Eragon thread*
The movie sucked, at least to me. I haven't read the books, but all my friends were freaking out about it, so I went, and thought it left much to be desired. Like quality.
And, back on the Alaizabel movie topic: The problem with casting by age is that, where are you going to find a 17-year-old who can act well enough to play Thaniel? And, what about Cathaline, whose age wasn't quite clear?
And now, I'm wondering about who in the world could play Devil-Boy Jack...That'd be a hard character to play, methinks...

Totally! He´d have to be, well, so creepy! And be able to see with his eyes sewn shut. Although that would be a minor problem. I remember an X-Files episode about the black oil where someone had his eyes and mouth sewn shut. I liked Devil-Boy Jack. He was... entertaining. *coughs* No really, an interesting character.
There are lots of families who would get their children to go to a casting. I remember the casting for Luna Lovegood where there were many families with their daughters. But actually, I would take older actors/actresses because you can always make them look younger/older by using lots of make-up. *laughs* And they have something like stage-experience.
Some time ago, I had watched Underworld with Kate Beckinsale playing this creepy vampire-chick. I did like the movie and remembering what Chris once wrote, that he´d cast her as Cathaline, I watched her every move and wondered if she´d fit. And then I watched the outtakes and thought "Actually, she would fit!" She´s just so happy-go-lucky and funny and on the other hand serious and skilled.
Where´s my tea?

The kid who played in the sixth sense was pretty damn creepy...there are lots of creepy kids out there. heh. and yeah, finding a good 17-year-old would be hard.
Ugh, for some reason I just got this horrible image of the guy who played Anakin playing Thaniel...*shudders*

oooh, that is scary...let's hope it never comes to that.
Not sure which Anakin (young or older) you're referring to, but either one....*shudder*
