:oOMG….please tell me that the rumors I have heard from a CW fan friend of mine are true….Is Chris writing a movie? Please, please tell me that this is true. If this is true than I just might have to kiss CW. From what I heard, the movie is lossely based around Alaizabel Cray, but like I said, these are just rumors that I heard. ;D

Well, actually yes.
He wrote the script some time ago and sent it over to the US to some film agent. I don´t know what they are doing with it right at the moment. But I just hope they´ll do it. Chris said he´d changed some parts of Alaizabel Cray due to movie-ness. I dunno what was changed but then I don´t really care that much. Even if Carver dies in the movie, I´d still don´t care. xD I trust Chris with the script and I´ll watch it, buy wallscrolls and the soundtrack. xD
Let´s just hope for the best. °v°~
See you~

*Jumps up and down happily*
YESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, I think I might have to go and give my friend a huge kiss, (this is probably the first rumor that he ever told me that was actually the truth). And you can bet that I will see the movie as soon as it comes out, own every poster and buy the soudtrack as soon as it's all available. So what if he changed some stuff around. The only important part is that it's by Chris himself, not some off the street director.

You do that! XD
But remember, longing can eat you up. XD I guess, there´s still a long period of time to master before we can enjoy ourselves with watching Alaizabel Cray on cinema. I first read about it in 2004. And that´s two years ago. But let´s not fret about that. As long as we don´t hear anything about it got cancelled, let´s be patient. °v°
See you around.

It would be a dark day in hell for the person who cancelled it if that were to happen. I don't care if it would be just me, I would have to destroy that person's life, (unless of course it was CW's fault, then I'd just let it go). But if it was someone else, they would wish they were never born...
*tries to calm down*
Ok, can anyone say "Kinda obsessed"? Sorry, I kinda get carried away when it comes to CW stuff. Ya'll know how it is.

I'm sooo excited about chris writing movie scripts, that means if there are movies made out of his books it'll be HIS doing and therefore it shouldn't be too screwed up...^_^ I can't wait for the movies!

@ bluephoenix: Just exactly what I´m thinking. It cannot be bad if it had been written by our Chris. Can it?

I juuuust hope they really shoot them. Or else... War with the movie industry!

Aww, man, I have no clue. I almost always see his books anime-style so it's hard to tell...

Ok, I don't know the latest news about the movie, but on his website, Chris Wooding said the movie script would probably upset the purists out there. Which means to me, he's cutting a bunch of characters. And changing things around. As long as he keeps Cathaline, I'll be happy though! *swoon*
As for the cast, my friend and I have cast and re-cast Alaizabel Cray so many times, lol. We only have a few roles we think would be really good: Tom Felton as Thaniel (he's got the hair, and he should be able to play Thaniel well enough.) and Hugo Weaving as Stitch-face. He was very good as V in V For Vendetta, and Stitch-face isn't that different of a character! Other than that, I have no clue...

Tom Felton... I will always see him as the white ferret. <.< I always imagined Thaniel to look more grown up. Not like 17, that is. 17 is young! *laughs* Hugo Weaving! Actually, that´d be quite sweet. Again someone with a mask. But then, he already has enough experience playing someone without a face. [And no one understands me when I say it´s funny that Hugo Weaving wears a mask in V for Vendetta.] We need British accents! Don´t we? [Yes, we do. Stop contradicting me!] But shame on me, I don´t know any more possible actors or actresses. I guess, some new and unknown ones would be nice because I´m sure there are, somewhere, people who would fit perfectly. And now it´s time for homework tea.

Right, the lowdown on the Alaizabel film... Basically, it ain't looking good! The film was optioned a while back by a TV company called Nelvana (big in Canada!) who wanted to develop it and then sell it to a film studio. So I did a bunch of drafts of the script and then some other guy did a couple and I did a couple more. Problem is, it's a huge movie that would require like $120m to make due to the massive amounts of FX, and they're REALLY hard to get made. Some of the studios were interested but nothing really came of it. They only give those kind of budgets to people they trust, not a lil' unknown scriptwriter like me. So anyway, it died for a while, then recently I was doing some stuff for New Line (y'know, Lord of the Rings, His Dark Materials etc) and they said they were interested in picking it up, so we went through a process called clearing the chain of title (which basically means that New Line have to buy all the rights to every draft of the script off Nelvana, to prevent any legal complications further down the line). Nelvana came up with a figure, New Line thought it was fine, and then nothing happened for 6 months and that's where we are at the moment. New Line are mega busy at the mo making Inkheart and Northern Lights, so whether they'll come back to Alaizabel or not I dunno... Anyway, that's the movie biz. Slllloooow. As far as the cuts go, I did have to chop and change a lot but all the major peeps like Cathaline are still there. But if it ever gets picked up again I'll totally rewrite it cos I've had muuuch more practice at this screenwriting lark now, so don't anyone worry

New Line are cashing in with the fantasy stuff, I should think you're in for a good chance. If someone made Eragon into a film why they would not make Alaizabel is beyond me.
