I really liked Poison. I mean, the girl. XD
I liked her spitefull way and that she cannot admit to her own weakness due to her pride. It was good to have someone like her for a main character. She also had some excellent cynical lines. "I just wanted them to die! They didn´t have to make a drama out of it."
Her relationship with Bram was funny. Like father and daughter. And he really was the fatherly character of the book. I very much liked the fact that she didn´t want to stay stuck in her village or consider things unchangeable.
The whole book reminded me of an Adventure-game... Don´t ask me why, but I always thought that way. When she poisons the dogs (ironic, isn´t it?) I always thought: "Use strange looking liquid with cauldron".
Did you like Poison? Or did you not? Or do you think the cat owns them all?
Okay, the cat is the best character... true.

I liked the book and the character. The intro to the adventure was just amazing: Poison chasing her desperate step mother. The Jim Henson company would have a blast if someone ever decided to turn it into a motion picture. I imagined many creatures to be like the ones shown in Dark Chrystal or Labyrinth. The cat was just a hallmark of felinity, the elves treacherous as ever and the irony of it all! Ask someone their name before you give them a message for your parents!!!

YES! That was the moment I simply though: "DUH!"
I mean, if she had asked... ;D The book´d have been much much shorter. xD

Poison was so cool. I kind of figurse out the twist pretty soon on, but it was still very good and didn't change how mind-boggling a concept it was. He captured how hard it was to deal with super well.
the faerie king was...was...*shudder* yeah...wow
I thought Poison was one of the best-made characters I've read about. She was consistently stubborn and cynical, most people wouldn't have held on to that so well. I adored it, like all of his books!

It´s also due to the language Wooding applies. There so much... well, sarcasm and depth in it. And I ´m always in awe of his way to describe things, sceneries or whole scenes. Wish I could write like that! XD
I totally forgot about the blonde girl, I must admit. After finishing Poison I had learned that in a book nothing happens coincidential. XD
My favourite part of the book? The house of the Bone Witch.

I really thought that the other girl with her (who's name I forget and will KILL myself for forgetting) was her sister.
The best part about his writing is how few how every-day of words he uses to describe things perfectly and eloquently. It's amazing.

A favourite character is so hard to choose with Poison, I really liked all of them bar Peppercorn, and they each had their own, individual and interesting personalities.
On the other hand Mr. Andereson.

The best part about his writing is how few how every-day of words he uses to describe things perfectly and eloquently. It's amazing. I've always loved that about Chris. He can describe something in just one short paragraph and yet create a really strong image of it in your mind where you just feel you have imagined it exactly as he did when writing about it. Magic. Poison ... Wow, I really owe a lot to her. It was down to how cool I thought her character sounded in the blurb that got me reading the book in the first place, which then got me onto reading other Chris Wooding books. She rocks! And I always love the conversation between her and Bram in Shieldtown where she's trying to find out if Bram knows where Lamprey is. It never fails to make me smile.

It's hard to really dislike Poison. What's great to me is that so many authors have tried to make a surly, sarcastic main character, but they either just fail the character by not portraying them properly, or making them change in the book and the character becomes a typical hero/heroine twit. But he succeeded in actually making her such a great character. She changes, but at her core, she's still the girl who left her home to find her sister. And I will always luve how he was able to do that.
This was one of the only books where I luved almost every character. I even luved Peppercorn, though I hate characters like her usually.
Of course, Mr. Anderson was a perfect cat, and was written so well, that I just have to say that he pwns all. ^_^

I secretly renamed my cat after reading Poison in honour of the fabulous Mr. Anderson. She was just called "Misty" before, but now she's Mrs. Misty Anderson. I think it suits her.

Poison, the book, goes down as one of my favorite books - mainly because its a complete mindfrag, but its also got excellent characters.
Poison, the character, was genius. Its about time we had a character who doesn't have a million super powers to fight with. I just love how she changes and adapts over the course of the novel, and the whole 'world falling apart' thing was great.

I must say that Poison is the most unique character ever, over all characters from books and movies. There's a strange aura about her.

I must say that Poison is the most unique character ever, over all characters from books and movies. There's a strange aura about her. Really? I found her very, very, very cliché. What with all the "nobody understands me" sulking, the defiantness? That's every second teenage fantasy hero(ine) for you. I liked her anyway; but unique, no. Then again, "Poison" is a fairy tale. Characters don't have to be unique.
