Yep, just registered. So.. *waves* hi again. Hm, okay now, let's see. Introductions. My real name's Charis, and my last name is Mah. (Yes my parents did that on purpose.) I'm in my late teens. Storm Thief was my first book and I enjoyed it ALOT, and I'm currently reading (and falling in love with) The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray, too. The rest of the books I might have to see about getting/reading as I've got some major exams coming up and they also don't seem to be as popular in our bookstores and libraries as the first two I've mentioned. And um, yes, I'm from and live in Singapore. (It isn't pirate land anymore *ref to Pirates 1, 2 and especially 3*, and it's very SMALL, but yes, it's mostly fine I guess. xD) I basically write more than I read now, I think (fiction, fanfiction, poetry) and draw from time to time. Oh, and I play some guitar as well. I don't watch much tv, but I DO have the mad love for Danny Phantom (am a big phanatic. xD) and Kim Possible. And I'm thinking of watching Heroes, too, once the exams are over. Other things I like include LotR and a few other book serieses like Sammy Keyes. Rather immature-sounding interests, some of these - but then I think I've always had weirder tastes. Oh yes. I am also VERY envious of Mr. Wooding and how he can come up with and write such brilliant stories. That'd be all for now.

Wohoo~ Hello there! Glad you joined! I hope you enjoy your stay which is rather easy I think as we all are really nice people! XD Immature-sounding interests? Ah, had worse. XP I mean, don´t we all love the good old cartoons we watched when we were young? Darkwing Duck? All the other Ducks? And if you should decide to watch Heroes, well, cough. That is not immature at all. *gives you a cup of tea* Want some? It´s delicious!

Welcome! I have my special, homemade cookies. *Offers plate*
And good luck with your exams! They are horrible things indeed, but it's so nice when they're all over. Having said that, I'm still vaguely stressed as I'm waiting for my results. *Shudders*.
And I'm sad to hear that Singapore is no longer pirate land. But don't tell Captain Jack that! *points at avatar*
It must be cool to live there!

Wow, Singapore? Is it nice there? My friends who have been there tell me it's supernaturally clean.
I love Danny Phantom as well, I'm glad I'm not the only one!
Have some cake *gives cake* and enjoy the forum.

Heh, yes, it's not bad, except the study system is quite stressful, and there's limited scenery. this whole place is one small crammed urban jungle. And it can be quite boring too, sometimes. xP
YES, more phanatics. xD
Lol, glad to hear your friends have had good impressions. Yes, it's quite clean here, especially our public transport. (:

Tea's good, I prefer it over coffee most of the time. xD

Welcome! I've been to Singapore and I loved it. Notable events were: waking up jetlagged at 4 am to watch the spooky event where all the street cleaners emerge from their little cubby holes, clean for an hour, and then disappear just before everyone gets up for work; seeing a poor little monkey with its tail eaten off being beaten up by its mates; and (unwittingly) buying the most expensive beer I've ever had, the equivalent of £16 ($32) for half a pint of Tiger (that they brew in Singapore anyway...) Then there was all the other cool stuff, Jurong bird park and the Chinese Gardens and so on. Since I think there should be the death penalty for littering (no, really I do) Singapore is my spiritual home. I don't think anything quite says 'I'm a sack of dirt not worthy to exist on this earth' like someone unwrapping a McChicken Sandwich and dumping the wrapper straight on the floor. Have a good stay in the Crooked Lanes ;D

Wow, exciting trip. I'll need to go there sometime since living in a medium-big city (by US standards) means lots and lots of trash. What really ticks me off is the people who think cigarette butts aren't trash. They throw them everywhere here. Out the car windows, in fountains, everywhere but the trash bin or the actual ashtray. And the police don't consider it littering either. It just makes me very mad.

Suffice it to say that seeing Chris Wooding's reply officially made my day. -grin. I'm honored.
on the smoking front, the government does seem to be cracking down on smokers here - they're making more and more restaurants/ eateries and even nightclubs non-smoking zones. We also are the only country that bans chewing gum; but then at least even with people buying back loads from Malaysia across the causeway, at least there's less goop sticking to the underside of your feet every now and then. xD

Bubblegum? All types of gum are banned.
And no, I haven't disappeared, just been busy so haven't been around much.
Also, because I'm not sure if this belongs anywhere else: I'VE BOUGHT STORM THIEF! I think it's the last copy that'll be on sale here for awhile (i've called up and looked in lots of bookstores, heh) So I'm very proud and very very pleased. Yes, I just had to announce it to the world. Hee. xD
