Hello all, I am a rather obsessed person when it comes to Chris Wooding, so much so that I've been known to ask store employees multiple times on a release day whether the book is on the shelves yet.
My first encounter with Chris Wooding was Broken Sky, which I enjoyed, so I picked up The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray when I noticed the author, and that cemented my love.

Sweeet! Hi! You have pretty much the same story as me. First Bsky, then Alaizabel, and onward to odsession. ^_^ WELCOME!

Considering the written order it's not too much of a surprise, but most definitely obsession.

Yeah...true true. I was shocked to hear that one of my freinds actually hadn't been that interested in Bsky. Like, open-mouthed shock.

To be fair, it's a children's book series, so if your friend was over 16, it was probably too late for them to truly appreciate the joy that Broken Sky.

Meh, they read when they were...*thinking, thinking* I'd guess about 13. And honestly, even my MOM loved Broken Sky.

No words can describe the foolishness and lack of ability to recognize greatness of your friend.

I know...and then I go out with him...*sigh* curse me and my weekness for those who give me much-sought-after Chris Wooding books.

Welcome, welcome!
Ha, at least I'm not that late this time! XD
So sorry I'm neglecting this place.. ;^; I'll try harder now! Post, post, every day~ (I can't promise anything, though... but I'll try!)
I read Broken Sky at the age of ... uhm ... 18, I think, and I still enjoyed it! My grandmother'd like it, too~ But I'd have to get my hands on German copies for her to be able to read them~ :_3A Or maybe Hungarian ones. Anyway, I don't think it's a matter of age. I love children's books~

Children books are awesome.
Your grandmother´s awesome, too. Reading all these books... my parents disapprove all the time. XD Goood thing that I read what I want.
And anyway. The authors of children books are no children but adults just like me. That´s my excuse for reading them. XD

Ah, don't worry! We're not that old. Or at least I'm not. I'm 19. I read Broken Sky only a year ago... (Maliris introduced me to Chris Wooding when she lent me The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray a few years (?) ago~)

Oh, it was a ´a few years ago´.
It all started in 2003- a rather fatefull year. I found Alaizabel Cray in German, fell in love with it in spite of the horrid translation, bought the English version and thus created ´Teh Wooding-Obsession´. I bothered Wollschaf with the book, she read it, too and joined the fandom of doom.
I´m 19, btw. Gawd, I´ll be 20! next year! XD
