You know in the book Mishani mentions a constellation called the Grey Moth? I found a constellation that could be it (if it were a real constellation; its component stars are all from several different groups I think).
If anyone wants to see it:
-find Orion -follow the right-hand star of his belt, up through his left 'hand' -follow this line past one more bright-ish star, until you find a really bright one -this bright star is the lower corner of the moth's left wing -another bright star marks the top corner -four more stars make the body tips and the other wing
I'll draw a sketch once I figure out which stars you should be able to see; I spotted it during a lunar eclipse just tonight so there were a lot of stars that aren't usually visible.

You know, I never considered the stars over Saramyr to be based on the actual stars, however, it's still quite interesting, unfortunately I don't have a star map to hand to see.

I don't think Chris Wooding actually based them on real stars, I mean, even if he did he was probably looking at a whole different part of the sky to me, but I thought it was cool that I found a group that looked like it.
Where do you live, could you not just look for it at night?

The UK, unfortunately, it's currently cloudy out and late.

I live in the UK too! Well, on a clear night you should be able to see it (I was worried you were in the southern hemisphere), but yeah, I get the problem with clouds.
Did you see the lunar eclipse?

...you know...I've never actually met someone from the southern hemisphere. I'm not sure it exists.
I'll be looking for those stars!
