Which of the two do you like more? I felt more of a connection to Bakkara and I don't really know why. He wasn't in the book for very long, but I felt his character developed more than Tane did. Does anyone else agree?

I honestly don't even remember who Bakkara is, lol. So I guess he didn't make much of an impression on me. ^_^

Haha, have to agree with Zemira. I had to check who he was before replying so I guess he wasn't very memorable.

Who is he again? I'd check in my copy, but I've lent it out to a friend.

The soldier guy at Zila. The one who Mishani wanted to lead instead of Xejen.

Oh, wow, ok I remember him. Yeah, I liked him a bit. Although, yeah, I liked Tane more. Don't know why. But I don't usually care for big burly gruff guys. The macho types just kind of annoy me. >_<

I'm going to guess you'll like Tane more since you didn't remember Bakkara. lol

No, I did remember him, I just forgot his name. *laughs*
I'm like that with real life people too - I'll remember what a person was like, but I'll completely forget their name.

Having read through the bits he was in, I think I liked him, but much less than I liked Tane. Tane was great.

I must be high or something. I do like Tane, but I didn't connect with him much.

No, I felt pretty much the same way. I mean, I did like him a bit, but I just felt that there were many other characters that I liked much more.

I was mostly neutral to Tane and to Bakkara. I'm not saying I dislike either, I just didn't much care. Although I was sad when Tane died, and I felt sorry for him. I just didn't feel anything for Bakkara.

I'm assuming people who're reading this have read the book, so if you haven't, be warned of spoilers...
To the original question, I'm going to say Tane, mostly because he was pretty much a main character of the first book, and because we never really found out anything deep and meaningful about Bakkara, whereas we did with Tane. Also, I see Tane as kind of a tragic character, whereas when Bakkara kicked the bucket, nobody really cared - not even Mishani, who was sleeping with him.
That said, I didn't mind him as a character, although he was pretty insignificant in my mind, and Tane kind of irritated me most of the time.
