Spoilers ahoi! Well, all three books are full of unforeseen twists. But which one did strike you as most surprising? Was it the death of Tane? The masacre of the moon children? For me, the thing that made my jaw drop was clearly Muraki's "betrayal". I was like

I did like this one, too. And afterwards I decided that Muraki rocked.
Oi, lemme think. There were quite a bunch of surprising twists. I liked the scene in the second book when Asara kills the Empress. It was totally wicked and so evil. Well, it was Asara. *laughs*
And of course, the battle for the Libera Dramach´s hideout in the second book. Totally, omg! They´re going to diiiie! No, they can make it! Noooo, they cannot! Omg! Wheee, saved! And so on and so forth.
All in all, a trilogy, lethal for people with a weak heart. ._.

Well, it was Asara. *laughs* Oh yeah, that one really shocked me. I just didn't see it coming! And Avun's second betrayal. Can't say I saw that coming either - it was more of a surprise than the first time.

I think it's because I've learnt not to anticipate anything in Chris Wooding's books, but the only bit I found really surprising was when Asara killed the Empress. That came out of NOWHERE.

The whole Nomoru being the girl in Anais' weaver's (can't remember the name tbh) room. THAT was a shock.
Also Asara's murder of her husband (Reki, was it? gah, I'm so awful at this!). I guess I really *shouldn't* have been surprised, but still.
EDIT: Vyrrch - just looked it up - I know it doesn't really matter, but there's no excuse for lazy posting

Muraki was great, she was so rebellious in a subtle way which did turn the course of the war.
The sisters letting the weavers win.
The payment the spirits wanted. hmmm I could probably think of loads more but thats all that comes to mind right now.

Well, I guess hate's too strong a word... I just really don't like her! Asara was only doing what the sisters told her to, with out the deaths of the people she murdererd the out come of the book may have been entirely different. Asara is too intelligent to just kill really randomly.

I know most of what she did was justified, from a ceritain point of view. Killing off my favorite character isn't, though!

For me, Asara's wish, I'm fairly certain I've ranted about it elsewhere, so I won't go into detail here. (This is partly because I was so sure I knew what it was.)

Hmmm, for me....probably Asara killing Reki. I figured he'd die, but I didn't think Asara would kill him. :-(
Also, I was somewhat surprised by Kaiku coming back from the Weave.
But I did luve Muraki after the books and what she did to Avun!

The two things I thought were most surprising were, yes, that Nomoru was the girl in vyrrch's chamber, the second was that Asara's wish was to have children, I kind of thought of her as immortal and as she was always saying how old she was I was sure her wish was to die which was supported by Cailin slitting her throat to prove to her she would fulfill the bargain.
