To a person who reads manga regularly, the manga on this new one is actually better than Steve Kyte's. I won't pass judgement on the scenes they show until I've seen the other two, because the very first diddy Broken Sky book only had Ryushi and Kia looking badass on the cover, no big important scenes, and there was only a golem on the back.

the golem was cool though...I can't wait to get these. My current books are kind of...damaged. Which is mostly the fault of my ex-boyfriend who owned the third book before me...how dare he

No difference, that was my point; that nobody can complain the new cover doesn't have big important scenes like the old ones, because not all the old ones did.

The advantage the old ones had was that there were nine books. So, plenty of space and opportunities to create covers and choose scenes. I think the new cover is suitable for it as it has the two main characters on it. After all, it´s three books in one so choosing a certain scene from the books could be harder as it would include spoilers, probably... I am curious what the other two covers will look like. I hope to see more characters. Group shots are easier for this "three books in one"-thing, if you ask me.
And I can only repeat myself. The two artists know what they are doing. The pictures are anatomically correct and the proportions are right as well. I also like the minimalist way of colouring it. Maybe it´s just me; I am always happy to look at good cover artworks and comic-drawings... <.<"

It's not just you Maliris, I like both covers. I like this new pair he's got doing it too, their pictures might not always represent the book properly *coughpoisoninatshirtcough* but they do always look really good.

I don't like the new cover much at all; for one thing, the guys look much too stiff. Also Steve Kyte's character designs are superior. I always thought they were very clever. The new ones are just typical anime fantasy stuff.

I don't think the character designs are that different...

Yeah, I was just thinking that aside from a few tiny details like Kia's new little skirt and some changes to Ryushi's jacket they're almost exactly the same.

I got my copy about a week? two weeks ago? and as soon as I put it down, my mum grabbed it. xD
I've only just got it back. -shakesfist-
To be honest, I prefer the newer covers. Steve Kyte's art looks... slightly dated, really, and the new ones are much more striking and eyecatching.
I love the minimalist colouring as well. It's just... cleaner. Newer. More in touch with the reprint, and the new imaging and so on.

Mwahaha I'm getting the new Broken Sky book... I just have to wait till January... sigh.
My brother is going to France this summer, and he's going to England on either the way there or back. I told him he is not allowed back without my book.
