I'm Thunderous. I've read Storm Thief and loved it, but nothing else of Chris Wooding's (even though I'd like to. My library doesn't carry him for some reason. ) Let's see... I also write, play guitar, and make art... I live in the US... err...
Somehow I mis-typed my name so that it's uncapitalized. Or at least, that's what I thought until I noticed nobody else's name was capitalized either... Is this some sort of rule? If not, I'd like it to be changed from thunderous to Thunderous if it's not too much trouble.
I've been a member of small forums before, and really enjoy the small, family-like vibe they have sometimes. So I look forward to hopefully being pretty active here... that is, unless it turns out to be, like, dead. o-o

Hello! it's not a rule that names have to be in small case. We just all apparently did it. I never noticed it till now. o_0
Yay! Another US fan! Muahahaha! Ok, I'm done being rabid. The forum isn't dead, although there are times where the posts slow down, but they inevitably speed back up! ^_^
I'll bring some nachos this time! *nukes some salsa and cheese in the microwave and supplies nachos* Enjoy your stay!

*steals nachos and cheese* Mine! Sorry, we never have these in the UK.
I never noticed the capitalised thing either... I guess we must all think usernames look better when their case is uniform.

Wow, how do you live? I don't like Mexican food, but sometimes you just need chips and cheese! Although now I mostly use salsa. ^_^

The funny thing is we have salsa, but the only nachos you can get over here are Doritos, so if they don't sell them nearby you just can't have nachos. Nowhere I know of sells nacho cheese, although normal melted cheese doesn't taste too bad.
I suppose we live because we've never had nachos, so we eat other things. Like... toasted cheese, or other sorts of crisps. You can't crave it if you've never tried it, y'know?
I don't know how you american-type-people live without british chocolate, I'd go mad if I could only have american chocolate!

Ooooh, now I want to try British chocolate---I didn't know they were different! My aunt goes to the UK regularly (usually to France) and she sent us biscuits one time that were really good. ^_^
Unfortunately, I don't like tea (or at least the teas I've had) so I don't know how well I'd do in England. >_<

You can get coffee over here, there's Starbucks and Cafe Nero all over the place so if you like coffee from either of those you'll be fine. Supermarkets sell coffee too, my family just doesn't buy much of it.
Hmm... how are american chocolate and british chocolate different... Well, british chocolate has much more sugar in it for a start. Here we sweeten our chocolate with sugar, whereas in the US it seems to be done with condensed milk. The difference in plain chocolate is very small, but in milk chocolate it's huge. I suppose it's like, in England milk chocolate tastes sweeter, in america it just tastes milkier. It's hard to describe... But can you not even get Cadbury's over there? That's like, the mega-brand in Europe (along with a couple of more up-market ones and of course Nestle, but Nestle owns half the known universe...)
Of course, there's no denying that the very best chocolate comes from Switzerland, Belgium and Germany.
P.S. did you mean she goes to the EU? Because you wrote UK, of which France (of course) is not a part.

Yep, this is definitely just like any other small forum. In a good way. Thanks for all the welcomes! And... the food! o-o I've never had British chocolate, I never really thought about it being much different from any other sort... Dark chocolate is the best though, but not a lot, just to savor on special occasions. Ok, so if lowercase names aren't a rule, it must just have been a freakish coincidence. Those are usually fun. But in this case, I'd really rather have it capitalized... would it be possible to have it changed? I'd really appreciate it =D Question... What's Karma? I mean, I know what it is, but what does it mean under people's names? Now, I'm off to find a decent avatar... bleh.

I think there's a thread in Gerneral Discussion explaining it, but basically it's a measure of how much people like you I think. If they like you or think you made a really good post, they 'exalt' you and your karma goes up. If they think you're being a ninny (or like Maliris you like to keep it at a certain number) they 'smite' you and your karma goes down.
I don't use it myself, except in my "get Chris's karma up really, really high" project. ;D
Someone correct me if that's not right...
P.S. speaking of keeping it at a certain number; haha, mine is thirteen. I love thirteen.

I guess I did mean EU...as far as I know, when us Americans say "UK" we still include France. I didn't know it wasn't part of it, sorry.
We do indeed have Cadburry's here, but I wasn't aware they were British. ^_^ It's a little too sweet for my tastes, but who doesn't luve Nestle. ^_^
I'm not a big coffee drinker either. >_< I drink water, milk, lemonade, soda, and orange juice, and that's about it. I'm really picky in what I eat and drink. I won't touch anything with alcohol either, ever, even on my 21st b-day, I didn't drink a single drop. I'm quite proud of that. ^_^

Am I the exception? I have a capital letter, lol. My username is kaiku (all lowercase!); I changed my display name to Becca after realising that there weren't many members so it wouldn't be a problem for my to use my name for once.
